Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson and safety Justin Reid teamed up to star in a new H-E-B commercial.
The iconic Texas grocer, which has partnered with the Texans on a number of community outreach projects and also general sponsorship, advertised its new poppers. Reid was drilling them from his back patio alongside Texans mascot Toro.
Reid is on video chat with Watson, and then they bring on H-E-B president and CEO Scott McClelland and start throwing around the term “poppin’,” much to the confusion of McClelland.
In the past, three-time All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins was part of the H-E-B commercials with Watson. With Hopkins now playing for the Arizona Cardinals, the Texans had to bring in a new player, and Reid fit the bill perfectly as his engaging personality came through the camera.
