New York has struggled of late, losing back-to-back games and five of its last six. Three of those losses were by two points or less and the last two were road games against the division rival Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets.
Memphis won the first three games of its four-game Eastern Conference road swing, all by double digits and against quality opponents in the Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers. Over their past 10 games, the Grizzlies are 7-3 straight up and 9-1 against the spread.

Both of these teams like to operate in the mid-range but only one of them plays good defense in the mid-range.
According to CleaningTheGlass.com, Memphis attempts the fourth-highest volume of mid-range field goals and New York attempts the seventh-highest volume of mid-range shots; however, the Knicks have the fifth-best defensive field-goal percentage on mid-range attempts and the Grizzlies have the fourth-worst mid-range field-goal defense.
Also, the Grizzlies get points via “miscellaneous” metrics such as points off of turnovers, second-chance points, fast-break points and points in the paint. The Knicks defense is top-10 in all of those categories.
Finally, New York has surprisingly shot the ball really well since the All-Star game—ranked fourth in post-All-Star break 3-point percentage—and Memphis is only 19th in defensive effective field-goal percentage.

GIMME OVER 214.5 (-115) for a half-unit because I like New York’s offense to find success in the mid-range and Memphis is averaging 119.0 points per game over its last 10 outings.
Furthermore, my read is the pace will pick up in Grizzlies-Knicks because both teams will play with urgency since they are each eighth in their respective conference and every game is important down the stretch.
