Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Green Bay Packers (6-3) face the Chicago Bears (4-5) on Sunday in the first of 2 meetings in the final 8 games of the season. Kickoff from Soldier Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Packers vs. Bears odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

These NFC North rivals both have endured erratic QB play, but the Packers have survived Jordan Love‘s struggles with health more effectively. Caleb Williams has endured rookie struggles behind a weak Bears offensive line.

Green Bay comes into this important NFC North showdown after a 24-14 loss to the Detroit Lions last week that halted a 4-game win streak. Chicago lost its third straight contest in Week 10 (19-3 to the New England Patriots) and have looked bewildered since falling to a Washington Commanders last-second Hail Mary touchdown in Week 8.

Packers at Bears picks and predictions

Prediction

Packers 24, Bears 17

Moneyline

I would’ve thrown a sprinkle bet on the Bears if the moneyline were +300 or better. The current +200 is not elevated enough for me to care.

PASS.

Against the spread

Both squads are middling ATS (Chicago 4-4-1, Green Bay 4-5), but I’m going to side with Matt LaFleur’s Pack following a bye week against Matt Eberflus.

Lay the wood. BET GREEN BAY -5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Even on the back of both teams’ rough QB play and uninspiring Over/Under records (Green Bay 4-4-1, Chicago 3-6), this matchup lines up to surpass what feels like a generous total.

Bettors should readily buy low that the talented skill players on each side will step up, especially the Packers’ crop coming out of their bye week.

BET OVER 40.5 (-110)

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Green Bay Packers (4-8) visit the Chicago Bears (3-9) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Packers vs. Bears odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

After Aaron Rodgers was injured on Monday, Jordan Love almost rallied the Packers to a victory, coming up just short in the 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite Rodgers dealing with a broken thumb and injured ribs, he is still planning to start in Chicago. And why not? In his career against the Bears, Rodgers in 25-10 with 63 TDs and 10 INTs.

The Bears, after losing 31-10 to the New York Jets in a rainstorm last week, will get QB Justin Fields back in this game. This will go a long way in helping them as his rushing ability has been a key to their offense and the Packers allow 154.7 yards per game on the ground.

Packers at Bears picks and predictions

Prediction

Packers 33, Bears 31

Moneyline

PASS.

If you like the Bears to win, the +180 is a suitable number. But if you think the Packers will win, the -210 is a little too high to wager on. This will be a close game, and anything can happen this season. I would rather use the spread as a buffer for either side I am on.

Against the spread

BET BEARS +4.5 (-111).

When this game opened at -4, I liked the Packers with Rodgers back and the uncertainty around Fields. Now that Fields has been practicing and is expected back, I like the Bears to cover this number.

Fields just set the record with 174 rushing yards in a game by a QB. The Packer’s defense is vulnerable against the run. Fields and David Montgomery should have a wonderful day in Chicago, and they will keep it close. BEARS +4.5 (-111) is my FAVORITE PLAY in this game.

Over/Under

BET OVER 45 (-110).

The Packers are coming off a 33-point output against the Eagles last Sunday night. The Bears, although only scoring 10 points without Fields on Sunday, are coming off a 4-game stretch in which they scored no less then 24 points.

While defense is going to be optional in this game. This number will really be determined if Rodgers and Fields are truly healthy. If they are, this game easily hits the Over. If fields or Rodgers needs to come out, this could go sideways. They are both healthy enough and I like the OVER 45 (-110).

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

One of the NFL’s oldest rivalries kicks off 1 p.m. ET Sunday at Soldier Field when the Green Bay Packers (4-1) visit the Chicago Bears (3-2). Below, we look at the Packers vs. Bears odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Green Bay won and covered its fourth straight game by beating the Cincinnati Bengals 25-22 in overtime as a 2-point road favorite. The Packers are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) and 2-3 Over/Under (O/U) with the 14th-toughest strength of schedule, according to Football Outsiders.

Chicago has won and covered three of its last four games including a 20-9 victory at the Las Vegas Raiders as a 5.5-point underdog in Week 5. The Bears are 3-2 ATS and 1-4 O/U with the 11th-toughest schedule.

The Packers have beaten and covered in four consecutive meetings with the Bears. Also, Aaron Rodgers is 20-5 all-time against Chicago with a 55 TD to 10 INT ratio and a 107.2 QB Rating.

Packers at Bears odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Packers 24, Bears 13

Money line

PASS even though Green Bay is obviously the right side here because the Packers (-250) is a little too rich for my blood.

Rodgers dominates the Bears and Chicago’s injury woes combined with rookie QB Justin Fields having more game film on him should help Green Bay’s defense in this spot.

Against the spread

Slight “LEAN” to the PACKERS -5.5 (-112) for a small bet if at all because of the aforementioned logic. There’s been “sharp line movement” towards Green Bay who opened up as a 4.5-point favorite.

We are getting the worst of the number and I much prefer the Under in this game than a side in Packers-Bears.

Over/Under

BET the UNDER 44.5 (-112) for 1 unit because there is “reverse line movement” in the Under’s direction.

Slightly more money is on the Over and nearly three-fourths of the bets placed are on the Over according to pregame.com, but the total has been lowered from the 46-point opener. It’s a red flag whenever you see sportsbooks make the more popular side cheaper.

Green Bay’s offense ranks 24th in neutral situation pace and Chicago’s offense ranks 28th in neutral situation pace, according to footballeroutsiders.com

The Packers are super reliant on Rodgers to WR Davante Adams magic and Chicago’s defense has held Adams in check recently.

Adams’ 61 targets are by far the most for any player on Green Bay’s offense with the next closest player being RB Aaron Jones out of the backfield with 19 targets. However, Adams has only surpassed 61 receiving yards once in his last four games against the Bears.

The Green Bay Packers (12-3) and Chicago Bears (8-7) both come into Week 17 with plenty of motivation. Packers at Bears: Game notes

  • In addition to the Packers vying for home-field advantage through the playoffs, QB Aaron Rodgers will also try to secure the AP MVP. He’s the betting favorite at BetMGM with odds of -400. His top competitor in Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (+350) isn’t playing this week.
  • Rodgers, a two-time MVP, has completed 70.3% of his passes for 4,059 yards and a league-high 44 touchdowns against just 5 interceptions. He has another 3 rushing scores.
  • The Bears have won three straight games, including last week’s 41-17 whopping over the Jacksonville Jaguars, to get back into playoff position. QB Mitchell Trubisky has thrown for 734 yards and 6 TDs against 2 picks in those wins.
  • The Packers beat the Bears 41-25 in Week 12. Rodgers threw for just 211 yards but with 4 TDs and no picks. Trubisky had 2 interceptions in the loss.
  • The Packers have won three straight games against the Bears. They swept the head-to-head season series in four of the last five years.

Packers at Bears: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Packers 24, Bears 21

Money line (?)

The PACKERS (-250) are on the expensive side, but they should be bet to win outright with Rodgers looking to put the finishing touches on his third MVP campaign.

The injuries in Chicago’s secondary further play to his advantage.

Against the spread (?)

The Packers are riding a five-game win streak with each of those wins coming by 7 or more points, but the BEARS +4.5 (-105) will keep it close in a low-scoring game.

The Chicago team that lost to Green Bay earlier this season is much different than the one we’ve seen in recent weeks with Trubisky and second-year RB David Montgomery playing the best football of their respective careers.

Over/Under (?)

Take the UNDER 51.5 (-115) on one of the highest projected totals of Week 17. Rodgers will do enough to seal the MVP but could be taken out early if the Packers get a big enough lead.
