Chris Godwin’s fiance posts touching message to the receiver on Instagram

Bucs wide receiver Chris Godwin recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, who took to Instagram to reflect on their time toegther.

It’s been a busy offseason for Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin, who’s coming off a career year in 2019. Godwin posted career highs across the board, totaling 86 receptions for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns in just his third year, establishing himself as a viable threat and the perfect compliment to teammate Mike Evans.

Now, Godwin will have a future Hall of Famer tossing him deep balls in Tom Brady, who graciously accepted Godwin’s offer to take No. 12 (Godwin will wear No. 14 next year).

But Godwin also took another big step in his life this offseason by getting engaged to his longtime girlfriend Mariah DelPercio. The two have been together since their high school days, and DelPercio took to Instagram recently to reflect on their time together and what the future holds for them.

Godwin reposted his fiance’s touching message on his own Instagram story.

Life is more than just about football. It’s about family and love first and foremost. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Also, no word yet on if DelPercio plans on changing her Instagram name to _missfourteen.

Chris Godwin shows off his new threads and number on Instagram

Take a look at Bucs wide receiver Chris Godwin’s latest Instagram story where he puts his new uniform on full display.

When Tom Brady decided to make Tampa Bay his new home, Bucs fans everywhere were thrilled at the thought of having a six-time Super Bowl champion under center for their team. Plus, Brady would have Mike Evans and Chris Godwin at his disposal, both of whom had over 1,000-receiving yards last season.

But, Brady’s arrival also created a somewhat awkward situation for Godwin. The receiver was the owner of Brady’s infamous No. 12 jersey, and had worn the number since his high school days in Delaware and while at Penn State.

Fortunately, Godwin and Brady worked things out, and the receiver gave the future Hall of Famer the number and switched over to No. 14. Now, with the Bucs unveiling new uniforms for 2020, Godwin posted the below image on his Instagram story, showing off not only his new threads, but new number, too.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers unveiled their new uniforms today, and it’s a callback to their unis they wore prior to the 2014 redesign.

The new (or classic) look is a welcome return for the franchise heading into 2020 as they seek to make a triumphant return to the postseason for the first time since 2007. And, with quarterback Tom Brady now under center, there’s a good chance they’ll be able to make that happen.
