God of War Ragnarok: Muspelheim seed halves locations

Locations for both Muspelheim seeds halves in God of War: Ragnarok.

Muspelheim in God of War Ragnarok is quite similar to the version of the realm from the 2018 game. In this land of fire and stone, you’ll be able to face down a series of optional combat challenges that can earn you some of the best armor in the game. However, like last time, before you can get there you need to unlock it. Rather than finding travel runes, in Ragnarok, you must find the two halves of the seed.

We’ll tell you where you can find both halves, so you can start blasting your way through these challenges.

In the first game, slaughtering all of them just got you an achievement, but the rewards for completing the Eyes of Odin quest are far more substantial this time around.

There are 48 to find across the realms, and we’ll show you where each one is waiting.

God of War Ragnarök: treasure map – Vulture’s Gold

An easy way to get rare crafting materials in God of War Ragnarök is to seek out these treasure chests, but you’ll need to solve the riddle.

Treasure maps are a rare find in God of War Ragnarök, but they don’t make it easy to find their loot. Like any good fantasy treasure map, it comes with a riddle and an extremely unhelpful drawing of its location, so you may need a helping hand to show you were the treasure is. We’ll tell you just that, so you can get your hands on the loot inside.

God of War Ragnarok wasn’t ‘good’ three months ago, says dev

Sony Santa Monica was worried about Ragnarok’s quality right up to its release.

God of War Ragnarok is already one of the highest-rated games of 2022, sitting at an incredible 94 on reviews aggregate Metacritic. However, director Eric Williams was pretty worried about its reception not long before launch.

During an interview with GQ, Williams spoke at length about how the development team stays motivated. Particularly with fan expectations sky-high after God of War‘s brilliant revival in 2018.

“When you work with people that are at the apex of what they do, you’re going to get magic,” Williams said. “I just came from a room with those people. All I could say to them was, ‘Thank you.’ They were freaking out three months ago, ‘Holy crap, the game’s not good. What are we going to do?’ I can’t even imagine how they feel today. I wish I had a time machine to go back and feel like that.”

It turns out that God of War Ragnarok is pretty good, much to the surprise of nobody (aside from Sony Santa Monica’s staff, it seems).

He also went into some detail as to why this saga is only two games rather than a trilogy. Apparently, the team had no trouble readjusting narrative bits for a two-parter.

“In terms of the story, it didn’t scale back at all,” Williams explains. “That was something we [100 percemt] believed and the team believed in, and we pushed as hard as we could. Some things got readjusted and reconfigured for pacing.”

God of War Ragnarok studio suggests downloading the day one patch

Sony Santa Monica urges fans to update God of War Ragnarok before playing.

God of War Ragnarok is out tomorrow, and as is often the case with big-budget games, there’s an update waiting for anyone looking to explore Niflheim.

On Tuesday, Sony Santa Monica released the day one patch for God of War Ragnarok. The official patch notes list more than 200 bug fixes and gameplay tweaks – pretty much what we all come to expect whenever huge titles launch. We’ll avoid many of the details since there are spoilers for quests, creatures, and abilities within. Just know it’s a must-download for anyone looking to play the game.

“We strongly encourage you to download this patch to ensure you have the best possible experience when you play on [Nov. 9, 2022],” Sony Santa Monica said on Twitter.

There are numerous performance improvements as well, particularly with regard to crashes that occur during certain questlines. Sony Santa Monica stresses that these were quite rare, to begin with, and GLHF didn’t encounter anything game-breaking during our review either. So you’re likely safe either way – but it’s probably best to follow the developer’s instructions.

There’s no denying that the hype for God of War Ragnarok is almost palpable. Fans are going wild, and who can blame them – this game has been many years in the making.

God of War Ragnarök: Jarnsmida Pitmines puzzle solution

The Jarnsmide Pitmines in God of War Ragnarök require a lot of legwork and brain power to get through, so we’ll help you along.

One of God of War Ragnarok’s many puzzles, the Jarnsmida Pitmines puzzle has a lot of steps to it, so we’re here you walk you through all of them.

Start by boosting Atreus up onto the higher platform and you’ll jump across to where a level is. Push Square to command him to pull it and a platform will drop that lets you jump across. The problem is it won’t stop moving, but luckily there’s and exposed gear nearby that’ll let you freeze the platform in place.

[mm-video type=video id=01ghbkha03gkyz0rghra playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01ghbkha03gkyz0rghra/01ghbkha03gkyz0rghra-0e9c4edd47d1a2d2f38aae8fcd82c40c.jpg]

God of War Ragnarök_Jarnsmida Pitmines puzzle 2

Get onto the next platform and you’ll need to use your blades to pull on a grapple point and rotate a trough, which will raise a concrete block that’s preventing you from moving on.

God of War Ragnarök_Jarnsmida Pitmines puzzle 3

Drop down past the block before getting up onto the next platform and you’ll see the trough has water flowing out of it. Use your ax to freeze the water and stop it from flowing. A concrete block will be lowered into place so you can grapple onto it. Once you’re on top, recall your axe and let the water raise you up. Here you’ll be able to reunite with Atreus just past a gate.

Go to the other side and you’ll need to move some carts out of the way. Once you do, Sindri will show up and give you a light source, which you’ll need to progress. You can enter the mines from here, but you’ll want to grab the Kvasir’s Poem and other goodies nearby first.

God of War Ragnarök_Jarnsmida Pitmines puzzle 6

As you’re about to enter the mines you’ll be attacked, but they shouldn’t give you too much trouble. Once they’re out of the way, head over to what you moved the cart and you’ll find a grapple point. Using it will turn a water trough, which in-turns spins a crane around.

God of War Ragnarök_Jarnsmida Pitmines puzzle 7

There’s some debris nearby with an explosive jar next to it. Throw your ax to blow it up and clear the way, then head back the way you came – as far as the gate where you met Atreus after the earlier puzzle. You’ll now be able to hook on the block of concrete you used to lift you up before. After you’ve done that, freeze the water flow once more and watch the crane turn again. It will now reveal the Kvasir’s Poem and other loot.
