Video: GLORY kickboxer launches out of ring with flying knee, gets knocked out shortly after

Murthel Groenhart had a rough night at Glory Kickboxing 77.

[autotag]Murthel Groenhart[/autotag] didn’t have a swell night at GLORY Kickboxing 77.

The welterweight fighter suffered a second-round knockout moments after flying out of the ring and apparently hurt his back in his title bout against champion [autotag]Cedric Doumbe[/autotag]. The pay-per-view event took place Saturday in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Groenhart attempted a flying knee with one minute remaining in the second round. However, instead of connecting on Doumbe, Groenhart overshot and flew over the ropes and landed on his back on the ring apron. The Dutch-Surinamese fighter seemed to be in pain from the fall, grabbing his back as he slowly made his way back in the ring.

Just seconds after the fall, the fight resumed, and Doumbe quickly put away Groenhart, dropping him with a right hook. With the victory, Doumbe retained his GLORY welterweight title.

Below you can watch Groenhart’s failed flying knee attempt, and Doumbe’s subsequent knockout:
