Tennessee is getting in early for the recruitment of an in-state prospect to help the future of its interior defensive line.
The Vols extended an offer to Giovanni Davis from South Pittsburgh, Tennessee this week.

Davis mentioned his offer from Tennessee came after a conversation with inside linebackers coach Brian Niedermeyer, who is listed as his primary recruiter.
At 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, Davis has the size to compete in the Southeastern Conference, but he does not hold any ratings on the 247Sports Composite.
Ole Miss is Davis’ only other listed scholarship offer.
The Vols currently have just one prospect committed to the 2022 recruiting class, in defensive end Jimmy Scott from New York.
