The New York Giants (0-1) and Washington Commanders (0-1) meet in Week 2 Sunday. Kickoff from Northwest Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we look at Giants vs. Commanders odds from BetMGM Sportsbook before making our expert NFL picks and predictions later in the week.

The Giants had a rough start to their season, falling 28-6 to the Minnesota Vikings in their home opener. They couldn’t cover the 1-point spread, and the game stayed under the 41-point total. QB Daniel Jones struggled, throwing 2 picks and failing to hit 200 passing yards. RB Devin Singletary led the ground game but only managed 37 rushing yards. On the plus side, rookie wideout Malik Nabors made an impact with 5 catches for 66 yards in his NFL debut.

The Commanders fell short in their season opener, losing 37-20 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road. They didn’t manage to cover the 4-point spread, but the game did hit the Over on the 41.5-point total. QB Jayden Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick, had a solid debut, passing for 184 yards and rushing for 88 with 2 touchdowns. Unfortunately, the defense let them down, allowing Tampa Bay to amass almost 400 yards of offense.

Giants at Commanders picks and predictions

Prediction

Giants 21, Commanders 17

Moneyline

BET GIANTS (+105).

New York has had a solid track record in Washington, winning 5 of their last 6 visits, including their most recent game there last November. Overall, they’re 7-2-1 in their last 10 matchups against the Commanders and have won their last 3 games in this rivalry.

Jones has consistently performed well against Washington, boasting a 5-1-1 record with a 69.7% completion rate and a strong 10:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He’s also 3-1 at in Washington. While Daniels might make some plays, the Giants’ defense, led by Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns, should be able to put enough pressure on him to force mistakes.

With the Giants’ recent success against Washington and Jones’ proven track record, taking them on the moneyline at plus-odds looks like a great bet.

Against the spread

PASS.

I’ll keep my bet to the moneyline with the better odds on the Giants.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 43.5 (-110).

Both teams had a hard time scoring in Week 1. The Giants and Commanders only managed 26 points combined, with Washington scraping together 13 of their 20 points in the second half. Washington’s defense had a rough time against Baker Mayfield and the Bucs, letting up a lot of yards and points. The Giants, on the other hand, didn’t do much with their young stars like Malik Nabers and Jalin Hyatt.

Plus, both defenses allowed over 100 rushing yards last week. This likely means a run-heavy game plan, which tends to slow things down and keep the score low. Given the offensive struggles and the expected ground game, the UNDER 43.5 (-110) points looks like a smart bet.
