TV, commentators set for SEC championship game

The Georgia Bulldogs play the Texas Longhorns in the 2024 SEC championship, which will be televised on ABC

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (10-2) play the No. 2 Texas Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the 2024 SEC championship game. The SEC championship will be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium Atlanta, Georgia, and will be televised on ABC.

Georgia is coming off a stunning eight overtime victory against Georgia Tech on Friday night. On Saturday night, Texas beat Texas A&M 17-7, so Georgia does have a slight rest advantage over Texas.

Texas is looking to win an SEC title in the Longhorns’ first season in the conference. Georgia is playing in a fourth consecutive SEC championship. The Bulldogs have not won an SEC title since 2022.

The television commentators for the Georgia-Texas game are Chris Fowler (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (analyst), Laura Rutledge (sideline) and Holly Rowe (sideline).

Texas holds a 4-2 series edge over Georgia. The Bulldogs beat Texas 30-15 in Austin earlier this season. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is 1-1 in his UGA coaching career against the Longhorns.

“Their defense is one of the best in the country,” said Kirby Smart on Texas. “They’ve got explosive skill players. Did a tremendous job in the portal. Their quarterback is playing at a high level, and they’ve replaced a big group of backs. The backs they’ve got are doing a great job. So, all in all, should be an exciting, challenging SEC championship.”

ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be in Atlanta for the SEC championship. GameDay also attended the Georgia-Texas game earlier this season.

TV, commentators set for Georgia-Georgia Tech game

The Georgia Bulldogs host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday Night. Where can you watch the game?

The No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs (9-2) play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7-4) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 29 in Athens, Georgia. The Georgia-Georgia Tech game will be televised on ABC.

Georgia is coming off a 59-21 victory over UMass on Saturday. Last week, Georgia Tech beat NC State, 30-29, in a home win on Thursday. That gives Georgia Tech a rest advantage, but it is unclear if that will translate onto the field.

Georgia Tech is looking to play the spoiler role in Clean-Old Fashioned Hate. The Yellow Jackets already have a top 10 upset this season and are very motivated to beat Georgia.

The television commentators for the Georgia-Georgia Tech game are Joe Tessitore (play-by-play), Jesse Palmer (analyst) and Katie George (sideline).

“This is a huge matchup,” said Georgia coach Kirby Smart. “This is an inner-state rivalry game that’s been part of history for a long, long time. And it is a physical game. It was a very physical game last year. It’ll be a physical game this year. I’m excited to be at home on a Friday night and looking forward to our crowd impacting this game.”

Georgia holds a 71-39-5 series edge over Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs have won six straight games against Georgia Tech. Kirby Smart is 6-1 in his coaching career against the Yellow Jackets.
