The Texas Longhorns baseball team finished their series against BYU with a…

The Longhorns followed a strong win in game two by taking BYU to the woodshed in game three. Texas ended up winning by a score of 11-1, giving the Longhorns (3-3) the series win, with game four scheduled for Saturday.

There were many stars in this game, but the best performance was by far starting pitcher Ty Madden, who only allowed one hit and 11 strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched.

On the other side of the mound was BYU’s Cy Nielson, who pitched 4.0 innings while allowing six hits and seven runs on top of only two strikeouts.

It’s also worth noting that Zach Zubia, who went 3-for-4 in game two, was only 1-for-3 for in this contest, but the one hit came in the form of an inside-the-park homerun in the first inning. Ivan Melendez was 2-for-4 and brought in four runs in the game.

Texas will look to end the four game series tomorrow with a full sweep. It will be televised on Longhorn Network at 3 p.m. CST.
