Neymar produced one of the worst, and most unnecessary, dives you’ll ever see in PSG’s friendly win over Gamba Osaka.
PSG finished its three-game tour of Japan on Monday by hammering Gamba Osaka 6-2, and the manner in which PSG scored its second goal proved to be quite irritating!
Neymar cut back on his defender in the box and, despite little to no contact, flew up in the air theatrically and rolled on the ground a couple times for good measure.
The Brazilian’s chicanery was unfortunately rewarded with a penalty, and he stepped up to convert and make it 2-0.
We can at least take solace in the fact that if this were a regular season game, VAR almost certainly would’ve overturned the penalty call.
Was this really necessary?
