Fresno State is coming off a 61-59 home loss to Wyoming Sunday as a 5-point favorite. FSU’s offense had been on the upswing prior to the upset. The Bulldogs averaged 70.0 points per game in going 6-2 over their previous eight contests, and that’s usually plenty with what Fresno brings to the table defensively. The Bulldogs yield just 57.6 PPG (fifth NCAA-I).

Colorado State had 16 wins in its first 17 games but was then bounced in a pair of Mountain West games in late January. The Rams have come back to win back-to-back games so far in February but still find themselves in third place in the circuit standings, looking up at Wyoming and Boise State.

CSU leads the MWC in scoring (77.5 PPG), but the Rams’ 82 points in their last game (Tuesday at Nevada) marked their most since Dec. 1.

Colorado State is coming off a hard-fought win and could well be caught looking ahead to a big game against Boise State Sunday. However, both teams have some warts that aren’t fully evident in their records and they really both fit as decent fade candidates in the near future.

But peg FRESNO STATE (+220) as being a decent price and perhaps worthy of some partial-unit attention.

Against the spread

FRESNO STATE +6.5 (-120) is worth a small lean.

Over/Under

The season-record Unders for these teams is 25-17.

The Under is 6-1 in the Rams’ last seven games against foes playing .600 basketball and has hit in two of the last three head-to-head meetings.
