Colorado State at Fresno State: Three things to know
- Colorado State was expected to host New Mexico in their season opener last week, but due to COVID-19 concerns in Bernalillo County, N.M., where UNM is located, the game was canceled with no plans to reschedule.
- Opening its 2020 campaign at home last week, Fresno State was trampled by Hawaii 34-19. The Bulldogs yielded 323 rushing yards, while coughing up 552 total yards overall. The bright spot for Fresno State was DE Kwami Jones, who rolled up three sacks and five solo stops.
- These teams met last season in “The Valley” with Colorado State coming away with a 41-31 road victory as 13.5-point underdogs as the Over connected. Colorado State has cashed in five of the past seven meetings in this series, while the Over has hit in four straight meetings at Bulldog Stadium.

Colorado State at Fresno State: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks
Prediction
Colorado State 29, Fresno State 24
Money line (ML)
We had our first look at Fresno State (+100), and the first impression wasn’t great. We haven’t had the chance to see COLORADO STATE (-121) yet, as head coach Steve Addazio takes over at the helm. Gone is WR Warren Jackson, but WR Dante Wright should fill his shoes admirably, and the Rams have experience with QB Patrick O’Brien back under center. It won’t be pretty, and there will likely be some rust, but the Rams will get it done on the road.
Against the spread (ATS)
COLORADO STATE (-1.5, -110) will cost you a little less, and it’s a good play laying the points rather than simply playing the money line.
Over/Under (O/U)
UNDER 59.5 (-106) is a good play as the Under has hit in 10 of the past 11 conference tilts for Colorado State. While we have yet to see what the version of the Rams looks like under Addazio, his teams are generally a defense-first, lower-scoring kind of side. Fresno opened with a subpar offensive effort last week, and the Under is 22-8 in its previous 30 MWC contests.
