FP1 and FP2 results from the 2023 Italian Grand Prix

Check out how everyone stacked up for the first two free practice sessions of the Italian Grand Prix.

The Italian Grand Prix weekend is among us, and it’s time for Formula 1’s annual trip to the Temple of Speed.

F1 is racing at Monza this weekend for the next round of the 2023 Formula 1 Championship. It could be a landmark race for Max Verstappen, as he has the ability to set the record for the number of consecutive races won that he has currently tied with former Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel. It should be an interesting race, as numerous teams have showcased strong straight-line speed across the year.

The most notable event across the first two free practices that took place on Friday came in FP2, when Red Bull driver Sergio Perez crashed his car and sent it into the barrier, damaging his back wing. Verstappen led the first session, while Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz topped the second session later in the day.

Free Practice 1 and 2 results from Friday’s F1 Dutch Grand Prix action

Here are how the first two free practice sessions at Zandvoort shaped out:

The first two free practice sessions took place for the Dutch Grand Prix weekend at Zandvoort on Friday, and it was more unusual than most sessions.

The big event came during FP2, when Scuderia AlphaTauri’s Daniel Ricciardo crashed into a barrier on the heels of McLaren driver Oscar Piastri. Ricciardo broke his wrist when the wheel twisted on impact, and it means that he won’t be participating for the rest of the weekend. Red Bull academy driver Liam Lawson is set to replace him for the remaining sessions.
