The Indianapolis Colts hosted a tryout for linebackers Chris Covington and Frankie Griffin on Thursday, per the league’s transaction wire.
Covington, 24, is a product of Indiana and was a sixth-round pick with the Dallas Cowboys in the 2018 NFL Draft. He’s played in eight career games, all of which came with the Cowboys before his release in April.
Griffin was an undrafted rookie who signed with the Green Bay Packers following the 2020 NFL Draft out of Texas State. He finished his senior season with 67 tackles (36 solo), 6.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
