The Chargers are signing linebacker Frank Ginda, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

Ginda spent the past three seasons in the USFL with the Michigan Panthers. He was named the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year. That year, he had 115 tackles, three interceptions, two sacks, two forced fumbles, six passes defended and six tackles for loss.

Ginda, an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State, signed with the Cardinals as a rookie in 2018 but was waived before training camp. The Dolphins then signed him. He totaled 12 tackles and two for loss during the preseason. He was on Miami’s practice squad.

In 2019, Ginda spent the preseason with the Saints. In 2023, he was with the Falcons and spent some time on their practice squad.

During his career, Ginda also made stops in the AAF and XFL, where he played with the San Diego Fleet and New York Guardians.

Falcons sign LB Frank Ginda to the practice squad

The Falcons have signed LB Frank Ginda to their practice squad and released punter Pat O’Donnell

One week after releasing linebacker Frank Ginda, the Atlanta Falcons have re-signed the former USFL Defensive Player of the Year to their 16-man practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday.

In a corresponding transaction, the Falcons released punter Pat O’Donnell from the practice squad.

O’Donnell was signed as a backup plan in case starting punter Bradley Pinion was unable to play in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Pinion ended up playing and therefore O’Donnell was released.

Ginda played well for the Falcons during the preseason and later landed on the practice squad. Check out the team’s updated 16-practice squad and depth chart heading into Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

Falcons sign LB Frank Ginda to practice squad

The Falcons have signed former USFL Defensive Player of the Year Frank Ginda to their practice squad

The Atlanta Falcons have signed former USFL Defensive Player of the Year Frank Ginda to their practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday. Ginda was on the 90-man roster during training camp but didn’t make the team.

After releasing kicker Matthew Wright on Tuesday, the Falcons had one opening left on the practice squad. With linebacker Nate Landman missing at Wednesday’s practice, it makes sense why the team would re-sign Ginda.
