Report: Carson Wentz interested in a potential trade to the Colts if Philip Rivers retires

Ian Rapoport is reporting that if Colts quarterback Philip Rivers retires, Carson Wentz would certainly be interested in a trade to Indianapolis.

The final NFL Sunday of the 2021 season again sees Carson Wentz as the main topic of interest and it surrounds his future in Philadelphia.

On ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, Chris Mortensen reported that Wentz’s relationship with the Eagles is “fractured” beyond repair and he’ll look to move on.

Moments ago, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafalo reported that the Colts are Wentz’s preferred destination, but that could all center around whether Philip Rivers, decides to retire.

Rivers has been named head football coach-in-waiting at St. Michael Catholic High School in Fairhope, Ala., and although he’s hinted at one last season, he could choose to walk away entirely.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson recently reiterated that he believes Wentz can be “fixed” and he’s stuck by the notion that Philadelphia is committed to their franchise quarterback.

Wentz’s 15 interceptions are tied for the NFL lead even though he hasn’t played in the last three games, and he’s still the NFL’s most sacked quarterback in the NFL as well.
