Report: Colts in touch with RBs Kareem Hunt, Leonard Fournette

The Colts reportedly are keeping tabs on free-agent RBs Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette.

The Indianapolis Colts reportedly are keeping an eye on the free-agent running back market and have been in touch with veterans Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Colts are keeping tabs on the market as they work through their depth issues in the backfield.

With several injuries at running back, the Colts are still monitoring the market. They’ve been in touch with free agents Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette. That’s a position to watch in Indy as the Colts cycle through options.

We knew the Colts had some level of interest in Hunt before the season began. They brought him in for a visit following roster cuts but no contract came from it.

Fournette is another veteran who was released this offseason. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers parted ways with the 28-year-old as they moved forward with Rachaad White as the starter.

The Colts are currently dealing with depth issues in the backfield. Jonathan Taylor is on the PUP list for at least the next three games, and it’s unclear what will happen with his contract and trade request when he’s activated. Rookie Evan Hull was placed on the injured reserve list after suffering a knee injury in Week 1.

They should be getting Zack Moss back this week from the broken forearm he suffered during training camp while Deon Jackson got the Week 1 start only to take 13 carries for 14 rushing yards.

This will certainly be something to monitor considering their need at the running back position, and we’ll update you on any new developments.
