Florida Panthers at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 4 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Florida Panthers at Tampa Bay Lightning Game 4 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning meet for Game 4 of Eastern Conference Semifinals Monday at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. Tampa Bay holds a 3-0 series lead. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Panthers vs. Lightning Game 4 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Panthers might have secured the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and won the Presidents’ Trophy with a franchise-best 122 points, but the Lightning don’t care. Florida has been held to just 3 total goals across 3 losses, and now faces the possibility of being swept.

The Lightning are the 2-time defending champs and have looked the part in the Semifinals. Tampa Bay has outscored Florida 11-3 in this series, and it is 1 win away from a return trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Panthers at Lightning odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:57 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Panthers +102 (bet $100 to win $102) | Lightning -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Panthers +1.5 (-250) | Lightning -1.5 (+180)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -105 | U: -120)

Panthers at Lightning projected goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky (4-5-0, 2.88 GAA, .906 SV% – postseason) vs. Andrei Vasilevskiy (7-3-0, 2.44 GAA, .922 SV% – postseason)

Bobrovsky has not been terrible in this series, but he has received next to no offensive help. Three goals of support in 3 games wouldn’t be enough for Patrick Roy or Martin Brodeur.

Vasilevskiy started the postseason with 3 losses in his first 5 starts but he has rattled off 5 straight wins since Game 6 of the Toronto Maple Leafs series. He is 3-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .971 SV% in three starts vs. Florida.

Panthers at Lightning picks and predictions

Prediction

Lightning 4, Panthers 2

Money line

The LIGHTNING (-125) are slight favorites in this potential series-clinching victory. The last win is usually the hardest one to get, and the Panthers are a prideful bunch. It’s not how Florida wanted its season to end and you can expect the Cats to play their best game of the series — it still won’t be enough.

Against the spread

The LIGHTNING -1.5 (+180) are going to take a punch from the Panthers, and this one will go down to the very end. However, expect Tampa to salt the game and the series away with a late empty-net goal, covering the puck line.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-120) is the lean here, mainly due to the shortcomings of the Florida offense so far in this series. The Panthers are averaging 1.0 GPG, and that has helped the Under go a perfect 3-for-3 so far.

Tampa Bay Lightning at Florida Panthers Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Tampa Bay Lightning at Florida Panthers Game 1 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers meet for Game 1 of Eastern Conference Semifinals Tuesday at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Fla. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the Lightning vs. Panthers Game 1 odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Lightning polished off the Toronto Maple Leafs in 7 games in the first round, coming back from a 3-2 series deficit to advance. That includes a 2-1 road win in Toronto in the clincher Saturday.

The Panthers registered a first-round series win in 6 games over the Washington Capitals. The Caps won Game 3 by a 6-1 score to take a 2-1 series lead, but the Panthers won the next 3 games, including OT victories in Games 4 and 6.

Lightning at Panthers odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:01 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Lightning +130 (bet $100 to win $130) | Panthers -160 (bet $160 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Lightning +1.5 (-180) | Panthers -1.5 (+140)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -165 | U: +130)

Lightning at Panthers projected goalies

Andrei Vasilevskiy (4-3-0, 3.04 GAA, .897 SV% – postseason) vs. Sergei Bobrovsky (4-2-0, 2.79 GAA, .906 SV% – postseason)

Vasilevskiy picked up wins in Games 6 and 7, his first consecutive victories in these playoffs. He saved his best performance of the postseason for Game 7, stopping all but 1 of the 31 shots he faced in Toronto.

Bobrovsky has picked up 3 straight wins, including overtime road victories in Games 4 and 6. He yielded 3 goals on 37 shots in a 4-3 overtime victory in the clincher Friday.

[tipico]

Lightning at Panthers picks and predictions

Prediction

Lightning 4, Panthers 3

Money line

The LIGHTNING (+130) have managed to win a pair of Stanley Cup championships the past two seasons. A lot of the team’s success has been in the second round, claiming back-to-back 4-1 series victories during the 2 title runs. In its last 32 Eastern Conference Semifinal games, Tampa Bay is 24-8.

The Panthers are moderate favorites in the opener, but they’re not as experienced as the Lightning, and it will show. This is Florida’s first trip to a second-round series since 1996. Facing an experienced Tampa Bay team will be too much to handle in this opening game.

Against the spread

The LIGHTNING +1.5 (-180) are a little on the expensive side – if you’d like a little insurance – but it’s not terribly out of line if you’d rather play it safe.

While the Panthers have won 3 in a row, they needed overtime in 2 of them.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-165) is also a little on the expensive side, but it’s the best play on the board. Tampa hit the Over at a 5-1-1 rate in the first round, while Florida cashed the Over in 3 of its past 4 contests.

Until these teams show any semblance of defense and good goaltending in these playoffs, keep slamming the Over in this series.

Washington Capitals at Florida Panthers Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Washington Capitals at Florida Panthers Game 1 odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Capitals and Florida Panthers meet for Game 1 of their 1st-round Eastern Conference playoff series Tuesday at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Fla. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we look at the Capitals vs. Panthers odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Capitals dropped 4 straight games to close out the regular season, and the team managed a total of just 4 goals in their final 3 outings. In addition, Washington allowed a total of 16 goals during that 4-game skid, and that’s a huge area of concern.

The Panthers claimed the President’s Trophy, awarded to the team with the most points during the regular season. Florida had a franchise-best 122 points. They won the regular-season title despite going 1-3 in the final 4 games, yielding a total of 22 goals during the span.

Capitals at Panthers odds and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Capitals +175 (bet $100 to win $175) | Panthers -220 (bet $220 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Capitals +1.5 (-140) | Panthers -1.5 (+112)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -122 | U: -102)

Capitals at Panthers projected goalies

Ilya Samsonov (23-12-5, 3.02 GAA, .896 SV%, 3 SO – regular season) vs. Sergei Bobrovsky (39-7-3, 2.67 GAA, .913 SV%, 3 SO – regular season)

Samsonov managed to win 14 of his 23 games on the road this season, going 14-6-3 with a 3.00 GAA, .904 SV% and 2 shutouts away from the nation’s capital. He was 1-1-0 with a 4.54 GAA and .879 SV% in 2 starts vs. Florida in the regular season.

Bobrovsky enjoyed the home cooking quite a bit this season, producing a stellar 26-3-0 record, 2.57 GAA and .918 SV% with 2 shutouts across 32 starts and 1 relief appearance in South Florida. He was 1-1-0 with a 3.36 GAA and .887 SV% in 2 appearances vs. Washington this season.

[tipico]

Capitals at Panthers picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 5, Capitals 4

Money line

The Panthers (-220) will cost over two times your potential return, and that’s risky business against a team like the Capitals. Washington has plenty of experience in the postseason and could give Florida matchup problems at times.

PASS.

Against the spread

The CAPITALS +1.5 (-140) are worth playing lightly on the puck line.

Washington certainly has the tools to put plenty of pucks in the back of the net, although I feel the Panthers will eke out the win late. I am just not confident in Florida’s defense, as this is a team that has had success by overpowering teams with offense while lacking attention to detail on the defensive end of the ice.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (-122) is the best play on the board here.

Florida topped the charts with 4.1 goals per game, while also firing off 37.3 shots per game to lead the league in the regular season, too. The power-play hit at a 24.4% clip, too, good for 6th. Surprisingly, the penalty kill of the Panthers was just 16th at 79.5%, so there is an opportunity for the Caps if they can draw penalties.

The Over cashed in each of the three regular-season meetings this season, with a total of 25 goals, while going 8-0 in the previous eight in the series overall.

Florida Panthers at Minnesota Wild odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s Florida Panthers at Minnesota Wild odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Panthers (33-10-5) travel to meet the Minnesota Wild (30-12-3) Friday at XCel Energy Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Panthers vs. Wild odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Panthers pay a visit to St. Paul for a rescheduled game from Dec. 18. Florida is coming off a thrilling 3-2 overtime win at the Carolina Hurricanes Wednesday in a game that resembled a playoff contest. It was the team’s first appearance since Feb. 1.

The Wild were doubled up 6-3 at the Winnipeg Jets Wednesday, snapping a modest two-game win streak that saw the team record victories against the Detroit Red Wings and Hurricanes. The Over has connected in each of the last two outings.

Panthers at Wild odds, spread and lines

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:37 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Panthers -125 (bet $125 to win $100) | Wild +102 (bet $100 to win $102)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Panthers -1.5 (+185) | Wild +1.5 (-260)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6.5 (O: -150 | U: +120)

Panthers at Wild projected goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky (24-4-3, 2.54 GAA, .919 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Cam Talbot (19-9-1, 2.86 GAA, .912 SV%, 1 SO)

Bobrovsky was not tested much Wednesday in Raleigh as he stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced in the 3-2 overtime win. However, the shots he did face, especially late in the game, were at point-blank range.

Talbot was toasted for 5 goals on 30 shots in Wednesday’s 6-3 loss at Winnipeg, a house of horrors for Minnesota of late. Talbot has still won four of his last five starts and is 2-1-0 with a 2.37 GAA and .929 SV% with 1 SO in February.

Panthers at Wild odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 4, Wild 2

Money line

The PANTHERS (-125) are playing very good hockey, and they’ll use Wednesday’s playoff-like victory as a springboard into this East-West matchup.

The Wild were embarrassed on the road last time out, and the offense will have a difficult time trying to solve another top-notch goaltender after being mostly shut down by Connor Hellebuyck Wednesday.

Against the spread

The PANTHERS -1.5 (+185) are worth a small-unit wager at this price, with the potential to nearly double up. Yes, Florida has won two of its past three games in overtime, but seven of its last 10 victories have been by 2 or more goals.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (+120) is a very good value at plus-money.

The Under hit in Florida’s game in Carolina, snapping a 3-0 Over run. While the Over has cashed in two in a row for Minnesota, the Under is 3-2 in its last five outings and 5-3 in its previous eight against Eastern Conference foes.

Florida Panthers at Carolina Hurricanes odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Florida Panthers at Carolina Hurricanes odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Panthers (32-10-5) travel to meet the Carolina Hurricanes (32-11-3) Wednesday at PNC Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Panthers vs. Hurricanes odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Panthers are coming off a 5-2 road loss against the New York Rangers Feb. 1 before the All-Star break. That loss snapped a four-game win streak that saw them outscore opponents by a 22-12 margin.

The Hurricanes suffered a 3-2 loss against the Minnesota Wild in a makeup game Saturday in St. Paul. The Hurricanes have just one victory in the past four outings dating back to Feb. 7 when play resumed after the break.

Panthers at Hurricanes projected goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky (23-4-3, 2.56 GAA, .920 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Frederik Andersen (25-7-1, 2.04 GAA, .929 SV%, 2 SO)

Bobrovsky has won each of his past three starts and eight of the past nine outings overall. That includes a 4-3 overtime victory in Raleigh Jan. 8 against the Canes when he turned aside 24 of 27 shots.

Andersen has dropped two of his past three starts since the All-Star break, allowing 7 goals on 93 total shots. That two setbacks are sandwiched around a 6-0 shutout in Boston Thursday.

Panthers at Hurricanes odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Panthers 4, Hurricanes 2

Money line

The PANTHERS (+110) were playing good hockey before the hiatus, while the Hurricanes haven’t been as much of a sure thing as they were prior to the interruptions.

Florida won the most recent meeting at Carolina while going 8-1 in the previous nine games against teams with a winning overall record.

Against the spread

The Panthers +1.5 (-240) is just too expensive, costing you nearly two and a half times your return. Florida should be able to win this one straight up, and they’re a much better play on the money line at plus money.

PASS.

Over/Under

UNDER 6.5 (-115) is the best play in this matchup.

Bob and Freddy have been playing tremendously in the crease for their respective teams. While we certainly have the potential for plenty of goals with two high-octane offenses, we should see 6 or fewer goals because of these two rested goaltenders.

Malcolm Subban (0-1-0, 848 SV%, 5.03 GAA) vs. Chris Driedger (2019-20 stats: 7-2-1, .938 SV%, 2.05 GAA)

Blackhawks at Panthers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Panthers 4, Blackhawks 2

Money line (ML)

The PANTHERS (-155) are the play in their regular-season opener. While it was a bummer they had their first two games against the Dallas Stars canceled, facing the stumbling Blackhawks should ease them back into action with a little success.

Yes, Chicago is 6-2 in its past eight trips to Sunrise, but that was as a contender, not a banged-up team which is a shell of its former champion self.

Against the spread (ATS)

The PANTHERS -1.5 (+165) are worth a roll of the dice at home, as Chicago has allowed 5 goals per game. Florida has an impressive offense, and the additions of Anthony Duclair, Carter Verhaeghe and Alexander Wennberg will help give them depth behind team leaders Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau.

Until the Blackhawks start to show some resistance, keep fading them.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 6.5 (+105) is the play, and it’s even more attractive at plus-money. Yes, the Blackhawks have allowed 5 goals per game, but they have potted three total goals in two games, and Florida is playing its first game of the season and might have some rust out of the gate.

This isn’t expected to be a low-scoring game, but a line of 6.5 is a bit much.
