Florida vs. Oklahoma picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma 69, Florida 63

Moneyline

PASS.

I like Oklahoma (-170) here, but I would rather take the points than play them to win outright.

Against the spread

BET OKLAHOMA -3.5 (-105).

The two times that Florida has been an underdog this season, it lost 90-83 against Xavier as a 2-point ‘dog and 75-54 against UConn as a 4-point ‘dog. It is also just 1-3 ATS on a neutral court, having lost 2 of those 4 games by more than 3 points.

Oklahoma is 3-1 ATS on a neutral court and won all 3 of those covers by more than 3 points. They were a small favorite or an underdog in 2 of those games.

6-foot-2 Nevada transfer G Grant Sherfield is the real deal as well, shooting 55.4% from deep and averaging 17.6 points per game. Considering their strength in this environment, back OKLAHOMA -3.5 (-105).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 133.5 (-110).

Both teams are 5-6 O/U this season with the Gators having gone Under in 4 of their last 5 games.

C Colin Castleton, who is the main scorer for Florida, stands 6-foot-8, so he should be able to clog up the lane and make things difficult for Sherfield as well.

One of the 2 teams has scored 65 or fewer in all of Florida’s last 5 games. Considering the trends and the presence of Castleton, back the UNDER 133.5 (-110).

Florida at Oklahoma odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Florida at Oklahoma odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 12 Florida Gators (6-0) and Oklahoma Sooners (6-1) meet Tuesday night in Norman, Okla. The contest at Lloyd Noble Center is slated for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Florida vs. Oklahoma odds and lines and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Florida has posted excellent defensive performances in remaining undefeated through a half-dozen contests. The Gators have held foes to a 39.0% mark from the floor, and they head into December ranked 10th in the nation in points allowed (55.7 per game). Wednesday’s game in Norman will mark UF’s first true road tilt of the 2021-22 season.

The Sooners have been involved in several close games so far — perhaps a couple too many. That includes Oklahoma’s last home game Wednesday when it struggled through 25 minutes against Houston Baptist. OU would win that game 57-40 despite shooting just 37.5% from the field.

Florida at Oklahoma odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma 68, Florida 67

Money line

Oklahoma plays really good defense and can stay in this game down to the wire by being exceptional on the defensive glass and by not relying on distance shooting or scoring points in bunches.

The Sooners can dial the pace to a point lower than the Gators may be comfortable with, and a Florida team playing a true road game for the first time — and against a veteran OU five — is gettable to the point that Oklahoma -115 is a fair price. Ohio State plays a slower pace than the Sooners and the Gators trailed the Buckeyes for much of a neutral-site game Nov. 24. UF won that game by getting to the line 33 times, which is certainly an out-of-bounds, rarely repeatable, number.

TAKE OKLAHOMA (-108).

Against the spread

With an expected close game, there would be just slight interest in following this Oklahoma +1.5 (-125) play. Some insurance on a one-point Sooner loss in the -118 price range would make sense if the line swings that way. Otherwise, AVOID.

Over/Under

The O/U bettors look to have this one surrounded. Finding value on either side will be tough. PASS.
