Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams was named a first-team All-Pro for the 2021 NFL season by the Associated Press.

Adams, who broke team records for catches and receiving yards, received all 50 votes for first-team All-Pro. Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp and San Francisco 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel were the other two receivers selected to the first team in 2021.

The honor is Adams’ second first-team selection of his career. He received 49 of a possible 50 votes and was a first-team pick last season when he caught an NFL-high 18 touchdown passes in 14 games.

Over 16 games in 2021, Adams caught 123 passes for 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns. He finished second in the NFL in catches, third in receiving yards, tied for fifth in touchdown catches and second in receiving yards per game and receiving first downs.

Despite being targeted 169 times, Adams dropped just four passes, caught 72.8 percent of his targets and averaged 9.2 yards per target. He hauled in 19 passes of at least 20 yards and four of 40 or more.

Adams had eight games with 100 or more receiving yards, including a career-high 206 yards in Week 5. His 206 receiving yards against the Bengals represented the second-highest by a player during the 2021 season. He also had an NFL-high five games with at least 10 catches and over 100 receiving yards.

Adams joins Sterling Sharpe (three) and Don Huston (seven) as the only Packers receivers with multiple first-team All-Pro selections. He’s also the first Packers receiver since Sharpe in 1992 and 1993 to be a first-team All-Pro in back-to-back seasons.

The Packers had three first-team All-Pros in 2021.

Brandon Scherff first Washington player to be named first-team All-Pro since 1996

Brandon Scherff was named to the AP NFL First-Team All-Pro list on Friday, becoming the first Washington player to do so since P Matt Turk in 1996.

The Associated Press announced their first-team All-Pro list on Friday morning, and Washington veteran right guard Brandon Scherff made the list, being the only player in Washington to do so.

According to The Washington Post’s Nicki Jhabvala, Scherff is the first player to be named first-team in Washington since 1996, when punter Matt Turk did so.

This honor caps off a big year for Scherff, where he was also named to the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl, and given the team’s Ed Block Courage Award as well. Scherff is currently playing on the franchise tag, but coach Ron Rivera has expressed a desire to re-sign him this season, and it seems like that will absolutely happen this offseason.
