Bears QB Justin Fields, Packers’ Jordan Love nominated for player of the week honors

Justin Fields and Jordan Love were the nominees for the FedEx Ground and Air NFL Player of the Week awards.

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has established himself as a formidable threat on the ground, and earned a nomination for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week.

Fields led the Bears with 18 carries for 104 yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 11.

Other nominees include Houston Texans running back Devin Singletary. The reigning Ground Player of the Week had 22 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown in the Texans’ 21-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Pittsburgh running back Jaylen Warren had nine carries for 129 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers’ bout with the Cleveland Browns.

Among the Air Player of the Week nominees, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love went 27-of-40 for 322 yards and two touchdowns with a 108.5 passer rating against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 28 of 39 attempts for 325 yards, two touchdowns, and a 103.0 passer rating in the 20-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

San Francisco 49ers signal caller Brock Purdy went 21-of-25 for 333 yards, three touchdowns, and a perfect 158.3 passer rating in the 27-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Each Air and Ground winner will have a $2,000 donation in their name made to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) all season long.

Voting open for FedEx Air and Ground NFL Players of Week 8

NFL fans can vote for the nominees for FedEx NFL Air and Ground Players of Week 8.

The NFL announced Tuesday its three nominees weekly air and ground awards.

The Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, and the Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa are nominees for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week.

Prescott went 25-of-31 for 304 yards, four touchdowns, and a 133.7 passer rating. The Dallas quarterback also had an 80.6 completion percentage in the 43-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Hurts completed 29 of 38 attempts for 319 yards and four touchdowns with a 135.7 rating as the Eagles outlasted Washington 38-31.

Tagovailoa went 30-of-45 for 324 yards, three touchdowns, and a 100.6 rating as Miami beat New England 31-17.

The FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week nominees are the New York Giants’ Saquon Barkley, the Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry, and the Baltimore Ravens’ Gus Bradley.

Barkley rushed 36 times for 128 yards in the Giants’ 13-10 loss to the Jets.

Henry produced 22 carries for 101 yards in the Titans’ 28-23 win over the Falcons.

Edwards had 19 carries for 80 yards and three touchdowns as Baltimore beat the Arizona Cardinals 31-24.

FedEx Air & Ground NFL Player of the Week award winners will have a $2,000 donation in their name made to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), which will go towards needs-based scholarships to deserving HBCU students.

Texans QB Davis Mills nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week

Houston Texans QB Davis Mills has been nominated for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for his efforts in the win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Houston Texans beat the Indianapolis Colts, and their quarterback is earning recognition for his performance.

After leading the Texans to a 32-31 fourth quarter comeback and game-winning drive at Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 18, quarterback Davis Mills has been nominated as a FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week.

Mills completed 22 of 38 attempts for 298 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions along with an 87.4 passer rating. The second-year signal caller heaved a 28-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jordan Akins on a fourth-and-20 with 58 seconds remaining. The Texans also picked up the two-point conversion — again with Mills to Akins — to beat their AFC South rivals, marking the first time since 2016 they had a better record in the season series.

Throughout the NFL season FedEx gives fans the chance to recognize high-level performances from quarterbacks with their Air nominees and great games from running backs with FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week nominees.

Texans QB Deshaun Watson nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson has been nominated for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for his performance against the Tennessee Titans.

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson’s season may be over, but it doesn’t mean he can’t get recognition for one of his final performances.

The three-time Pro Bowler earned a nomination for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for Week 17.

In the 41-38 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Watson completed 28 passes on 39 attempts for 365 yards, three touchdowns, and interception, and compiled a 115.9 passer rating. The performance also handed him the NFL passing title and the Texans’ new single-season passing yards record.

Other nominees for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week include Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who completed 26-of-41 for 399 yards, four touchdowns, and a 117.8 rating against the Atlanta Falcons.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 28 passes on 40 attempts for 405 yards, three touchdowns, and posted a 127.6 rating against the Detroit Lions.

If Watson wins the award, FedEx will honor him by working with Direct Relief to deliver emergency medical backpacks in the greater Houston area.
