A new No. 1 in this week’s FBS re-ranking, LSU holds firm

LSU holds onto their spot, a new team at No. 1.

We have a new FBS re-ranking following championship Saturday.

In this week’s edition from Paul Myerberg, the Alabama Crimson Tide reclaimed the top spot after running past the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship. Former LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears round out the top five after Alabama, Cincinnati, Michigan, and Georgia.

LSU stayed firm at No. 49 in the rankings. They were off but the storylines continued as they hired a new head coach in Brian Kelly. Thus far we know that Brian Polian of Notre Dame and Frank Wilson of McNeese are now on staff. The roles remain to be seen but Wilson returns to his old post as associate head coach.

Where LSU lands in this week’s FBS 130 re-ranking

Did LSU drop after a close loss to Alabama?

As we wrap up the week that was for the SEC, we look at how they rank among the FBS.

This week’s FBS 130 re-rank from Paul Myerberg has the LSU Tigers dropping just a bit. The Bayou Bengals played the defending national champions tough in Tuscaloosa. Coming close to winning at Bryant Denny Stadium for the second-consecutive trip. However, close doesn’t mean much and we aren’t here for moral victories.

Around the SEC the usual suspects came away with wins. The Georgia Bulldogs continued to run through the competition and Texas A&M continues to ascend.

LSU falters again, Ole Miss rises in the USA TODAY Sports FBS re-rank

LSU ranks at No. 10 in the SEC.

Everything was pointing upwards following the win over the Florida Gators just two Saturdays ago. However, what has plagued this team for most of the season popped up once again.

The team climbed to No. 42 in last week’s ranking after that 49-42 shootout win over the Gators. It appears they have come back to reality a bit following the 31-17 loss to Ole Miss. The game not being anywhere close to the final margin of victory.

This week’s version from Paul Myerberg saw the team fall behind the likes of Mississippi State, Houston, Louisville, and Boston College. A fellow disappointing team in the Clemson Tigers sits just a spot ahead of them.
