The FAU Owls (5-2, 4-1 C-USA) visit the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (2-7, 1-4) Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff. Below, we analyze the FAU-Southern Miss college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

FAU at Southern Miss: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:50 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: FAU -304 (bet $304 to win $100) | Southern Miss +240 (bet $100 to win $240)
  • Against the spread/ATS: FAU -8.5 (-110) | Southern Miss +8.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 42.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

FAU at Southern Miss: Three things to know

  1. The Owls hit the road for the second straight week. They stepped out of conference and were dumped 20-3 at Georgia Southern last week, struggling against the triple-option offense. The defense was stout as usual, as the Owls have allowed 20 or fewer points in every game this season.
  2. FAU’s defense allows just 299.6 total yards per game to check-in sixth in the country while ranking eighth in passing yards allowed per game (170.9). The Owls are also third overall in the nation with just 12.4 PPG allowed through seven outings.
  3. Southern Miss lost 32-21 in the opener against South Alabama, and head coach Jay Hopson resigned after just one game. Scotty Walden took over, but he left to be the head coach at FCS Austin Peay, who will compete in the spring. So, defensive coordinator Tim Billings has been handling the head coaching duties.

FAU at Southern Miss: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

FAU 26, Southern Miss 13

Money line (ML)

FAU (-304) is a better team overall, and it has the coaching stability. Southern Miss (+240) is having a rare down year. With FAU’s struggling offense, posting just 18.4 points per game, you cannot risk three times your potential return. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

FAU -8.5 (-110) is a fairly risky play, as the Owls have struggled on offense, as mentioned above. The seven-loss Golden Eagles will have a hard time moving the ball on the Owls and their sturdy defense. FAU covered the spread in its only road game as a favorite of a touchdown or more, topping rival FIU 38-19 Nov. 13. It was easily its best scoring performance of the season but another breakout here wouldn’t be shocking.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 42.5 (+100) is always risky in this day and age of offense, but FAU is a throwback. The Owls do not score much on offense, and their defense is stout. USM is averaging just 14.3 PPG across its past four games, and a visit from the Owls is not what the Eagles need to get going.

FAU at Middle Tennessee odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s FAU Owls at Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The FAU Owls (5-1 overall, 4-1 CUSA) and Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (3-6, 2-4) will lock horns and match wits in a Saturday matinee at 3:30 p.m. ET at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Below, we analyze the FAU-Middle Tennessee college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

FAU at Middle Tennessee: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 2:27 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: FAU -228 (bet $228 to win $100) | Middle Tennessee -185 (bet $100 to win $185)
  • Against the spread/ATS: FAU -6 (-110) | Middle Tennessee +6 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 48.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

FAU at Middle Tennessee: Three things to know

  1. FAU heads into Saturday’s contest having won four straight games. Over those four victories, the Owls outscored foes by a combined margin of 96-30. On the season, Florida Atlantic ranks second in the country in yielding just 11.2 points per game.
  2. Middle Tennessee is playing its first home game in over a month.  That may not be a solace to MTSU bettors: The Blue Raiders are 0-3 straight-up and 1-2 ATS at home. As a home dog, however, Middle Tennessee is 5-2 ATS.
  3. FAU won last year’s meeting, 28-13 (Oct. 12), and has won two of the last three in the series (MTSU defeated the Owls, 25-24, in 2018).

FAU at Middle Tennessee: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

FAU 28, Middle Tennessee 24

Money line (ML)

Back FAU (-228). Figure the Owls as a near 75% favorite in this one, and that spells value at this price.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS. The better value on the FAU side is on the money line.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Under has hit three straight years in this series following a wild 77-56 Blue Raider win in 2016. Figure on the Over fighting back Saturday. FAU’s win streak has been built against opposing offenses ranked (in order) 67th, 124th, 123rd, and 127th. For the year, the Owls have allowed one touchdown on 11 trips to the red zone. Back the OVER 48.5 (-110).

FAU at FIU odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s FIU Owls at FAU Panthers sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The FAU Owls (3-1, 3-1 C-USA) and FIU Panthers (0-3, 0-1) meet in Miami for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff Friday. Below, we analyze the FAU-FIU college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

FAU at FIU: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 5:33 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: FAU -334 (bet $334 to win $100) | FIU +265 (bet $100 to win $265)
  • Against the spread/ATS: FAU -8.5 (-110) | FIU +8.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 40.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

FAU at FIU: Three things to know

  1. FAU leads the all-time series 13-4. FIU would have a fifth win in the series by its 2005 victory was vacated. The Owls have won each of the past three meetings, winning by an average of 31.0 PPG during the impressive span. The Owls have covered four of the past five meetings in this series, and the Over is 4-0 in the past four in Miami.
  2. The Owls are having a power outage on offense this season. While they won last week against Western Kentucky, they struggled in the 10-6 victory, and the game was scoreless at halftime. In fact, FAU is averaging just 5.8 points in the first half this season, and 16.0 PPG overall. The Under is a perfect 4-0 for Willie Taggart’s bunch thanks to a defense yielding just 11.5 PPG, fourth in the country.
  3. FIU hasn’t played since Oct. 23, an embarrassing 19-10 loss at home against FCS Jacksonville State. The Panthers are averaging 24.0 PPG, and they have yielded 28.7 PPG. They have covered once this season, a 36-34 near-miss at Liberty back on Sept. 26.

FAU at FIU: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

FAU 23, FIU 12

Money line (ML)

FAU (-334) has looked disjointed on offense all season, and it consistently gets off to slow starts. Facing FIU should be the elixir to cure the Owls’ ills, but you cannot justify risking more than three times your potential return. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

FAU -8.5 (-110) is a risky play, so go lightly, but the Owls should be able to move the ball a little more freely against FIU. The Panthers should be a little rusty since they haven’t played in three weeks, and that also is in the favor of the Owls.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 40.5 (-110) seems like an unreal play in this day and age of college football. There are some games where you’ll see this line hit by halftime. But keep thumping Unders in FAU games, as it’s just so stagnant on offense. Remember, this is a team which saw double aughts on the scoreboard last week against Western Kentucky, and it is playing this one on a short week.

Western Kentucky at FAU odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at FAU Owls sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (2-5, 1-2 C-USA) and FAU Owls (2-1, 2-1) meet in Boca Raton, Fla., for a 6 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday. Below, we analyze the Western Kentucky-FAU college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Western Kentucky at FAU: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 5:25 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Western Kentucky +220 (bet $100 to win $220) | FAU -278 (bet $278 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Western Kentucky +6.5 (-106) | FAU -6.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 39.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Western Kentucky at FAU: Three things to know

  1. Western Kentucky has stumbled through the first seven games on its schedule, winning just twice. WKU topped Middle Tennessee by 3 points (20-17) on Oct. 3, and FCS Chattanooga by 3 points (13-10) on Oct. 24. In its other five games, they have lost by an average of 18.4 points.
  2. Last week’s cover by the Hilltoppers (+31.5) at BYU was their first of the season against six non-covers, and they covered by just a half-point, losing 41-10.
  3. Florida Atlantic has covered each of its past two games since a non-cover (by 1 point) in the opener against Charlotte. The Owls are averaging just 18.0 PPG, as there has been a power outage since head coach Lane Kiffin left town. However, the defense has stepped up, allowing just 13.3 PPG to rank 10th in the country.

Western Kentucky at FAU: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

FAU 34, Western Kentucky 13

Money line (ML)

FAU (-278) has had difficulty moving the ball on offense this season, as new QB Nick Tronti has had some growing pains in his first full season under center. While the Owls “should” be able to get well against a poor Hilltoppers (+220) side, you can’t risk nearly three times your return on a struggling offense. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

FAU -6.5 (-115) has covered each of its past two, while Western Kentucky is just 1-6 ATS, and that lone cover was just by a half-point in a 31-point loss. The Owls should get rolling against the struggling Hilltoppers, and FAU is particularly attractive since this line is on the favorable side of a flat 7.

Over/Under (O/U)

A total in the 30’s in college football in this day and age is very irregular. It’s like going back to the 1990’s. However, playing OVER 39.5 (-110) is the way to go. The Owls will be able to get cooking against a defense allowing 29.7 PPG. RBs Malcolm Davidson, the team’s leading rusher, and James Charles should be leaned upon heavily to dent a WKU defense allowing 185.7 yards per game on the ground, 81st in the nation
