On Thursday, another Penn State defensive lineman announced he has entered the transfer portal.
Now that the season is officially in the books following Penn State’s Rose Bowl victory, the roster changes for the upcoming 2023 season will continue to be made through recruiting and the transfer portal. On Thursday, a current member of the Penn State program announced he was entering the transfer portal to explore his potential options moving forward. Defensive lineman [autotag]Fatorma Mulbah[/autotag] took to Twitter to confirm he will be the latest Nittany Lion to enter the transfer portal.
“As I reflect on my time at Penn State University, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the tremendous opportunity I have had to play football for Penn State,” Mulbah said in a released statement on his Twitter account on Thursday. “I am thankful to God for guiding me on this journey, and I am forever indebted to Coach Franklin and the staff for giving me this opportunity.”
“However, after many discussions with my family and coaches, I have decided to enter the MNCAA transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining,” Mulbah announced.
Mulbah was a three-star player in Penn State’s Class of 2020 from Harrisburg, PA. He enrolled early in January 2020 and played primarily on special teams duty for the Nittany Lions in 2022. Mulbah redshirted the 2020 season and he will have the NCAA’s extra year of eligibility at his disposal as he looks to continue his football career, potentially elsewhere.
Where Mulbah goes next remains to be seen. Mulbah is the third Penn State player from the defensive line to enter the transfer portal since the end of the regular season. He joins defensive tackle Rodney McGraw (who has since committed to Louisville) and Davon Townley, who continues to explore his options.
Penn State did add to its roster from the transfer portal this week with the commitment of former NC State wide receiver Devin Carter.
