Fantasy football Week 7 waiver wire adds: Travis Fulgham here to stay

Looking at the breakout fantasy football performers of the week and ranking the top waiver wire adds for Week 7.

We head into Week 7 of the 2020 NFL season with all 14 games expected to take place as scheduled. The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles kick off the week on Thursday Night Football. There is one game set for Monday Night Football with the Chicago Bears visiting the Los Angeles Rams. Below, we look at the top fantasy football waiver wire adds for Week 7.

Teams on bye: Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings

Fantasy football Week 7 waiver adds

New York Jets RB La’Mical Perine

In the Jets’ first game without RB Le’Veon Bell (now with the Kansas City Chiefs), the rookie Perine played 56.5% of the team’s offensive snaps. He was largely unimpressive in his 39 times on the field, finishing with 7 carries for 27 yards, and 2 catches for 9 yards.

He played more snaps than both Frank Gore and Ty Johnson combined. While Gore had more touches and both had more rushing yards, the fourth-round rookie seems to be the preferred choice of coaching and management. There’s no telling how much longer HC Adam Gase will be calling the shots, but Perine is worth owning for as long as he is.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Travis Fulgham

Fulgham is still available in nearly 70% of leagues despite scoring a touchdown in three straight games. The former sixth-round pick of the Detroit Lions leads his team in receiving yards and touchdowns.

WRs DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery could both return in Week 7, and rookie Jalen Reagor will be eligible to return from the Reserve/Injured list this week. Fulgham has a clear connection with QB Carson Wentz and will remain a big part of the passing attack.

Los Angeles Chargers RB Justin Jackson

Jackson and the Chargers come off a Week 6 bye following a 15-carry, 71-yard performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5. It was the Chargers’ first game since RB Austin Ekeler went down to injury.

The third-year back played 59% of the offensive snaps and caught five of six targets for another 23 yards while drawing the start. The Chargers have a very favorable upcoming schedule with games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, Miami Dolphins and Jets. Both Jackson and the higher-owned Joshua Kelley should both be fantasy relevant over that stretch.

Denver Broncos WR Tim Patrick

Patrick has back-to-back 100-yard games while working with QBs Brett Rypien and Drew Lock. He has a total of 10 catches on 15 targets over those two games. He was targeted a total of 18 times and made 11 catches for 138 yards over the final four games of 2019 while working with Lock and has a stronger rapport with his QB than the Broncos’ rookie wideouts at this point.

Indianapolis Colts TE Trey Burton

Burton was targeted five times for the third straight game since returning from the IR in Week 4. He made four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown and also scored a goal-line rushing touchdown while taking the snap.

His play sparked a Colts’ red-zone offense that had greatly struggled through the first five weeks. He should be a go-to option for QB Philip Rivers coming out of the Week 7 bye as Indy tries to stay close to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South standings.
