Fantasy football wavier wire claims and targets ahead of NFL Week 12.

Fantasy football has hit crunch time of the regular season and now, more than ever, a waiver wire pickup could make all the difference for your team.

With that, here are seven wavier wire claims to make in fantasy football ahead of Week 12:

Which Bucs tight end should you start in Week 12?

Jenna Laine of ESPN offers advice to fantasy football owners on what to do with Buccaneers tight ends O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end O.J. Howard hasn’t been having the breakout year the team, and fantasy football owners, were hoping for.

The third-year tight end out of Alabama has just 17 receptions for 223 yards and a touchdown this season. He drew the ire of head coach Bruce Arians earlier in the season, and after his careless turnover against the Saints in Week 11’s loss, it looks like the season is spiraling out of control for Howard.

So, how should fantasy owners proceed with Howard? Was last week’s “benching” a sign of things to come or just a hiccup? Jenna Laine of ESPN offered her two cents on the matter.

Take a look.

“Howard will continue his role as a run-blocker, but as a pass-catcher, I don’t think they can trust him fully. His bobbled pass that he attempted to juggle behind his body sent the Bucs spiraling into a 20-0 deficit early against the Saints last week. Brate, meanwhile, caught 10 of 14 targets last week, so he’ll be the one getting the bulk of opportunities in the receiving game.”

The best catch Howard’s made all season did’t even come on the field, but while he was attending a Tampa Bay Rays game.

Yeah, it’s been a strange year for Howard.

RB Bo Scarbrough

The round and round cycle that is the Lions running back situation since Kerryon Johnson’s injury has now landed on Bo Scarbrough. For those paying attention, we’ve went from Ty Johnson to JD McKissic and now Scarbrough. Last week against the Cowboys, Scarbrough came out of no where to muster up 14 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. McKissic did still feature as a pass catcher, though.

RB Jay Ajayi

Jay Ajayi signed with the Eagles prior to Week 11 against the Patriots, but he didn’t play behind Miles Sanders and Boston Scott. It might be a case of him needing to warm up to the offensive scheme, but he’s certainly at least a better option than Scott with Jordan Howard still expecting to miss some time. He’s at least worth stashing for a playoff run later on.
