Chiefs cuts: Fan-favorite WR Justyn Ross to be released

Fan-favorite WR Justyn Ross was among the players who were released by the Kansas City #Chiefs on Tuesday.

The Kansas City Chiefs had to make some tough decisions this week to cut their roster down to 53 players, and fan-favorite wide receiver Justyn Ross found himself on the outside looking in on Tuesday afternoon.

Ross, who joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL draft, was a star at Clemson as a collegian and seemed to be on the rise during Kansas City’s preseason exhibitions.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz first reported news of Ross’ release on Twitter.  The transaction came just a day after the Chiefs reunited with veteran wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, which may have been one of the factors in Kansas City’s decision to part with the former Tiger.

It isn’t out of the question that Ross could be signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad in the coming days, but for now, his future in Kansas City seems to have come to an end.
