Pick any era of Notre Dame football and you’ll likely be able to find some stellar running backs that carried the load for the offense whether the teams were championship contenders or not.

Who is the best running back in Notre Dame history?

That’s an argument we’ll save for another day (or post), but here are the top-10 all-time leading rushers in Notre Dame football history:

5 current and former Sixers who have a chance at the Hall of Fame

Here are five current and former members of the Philadelphia 76ers who have a shot at making the Hall of Fame.

With the induction of the 2020 Hall of Fame class on Saturday, now is the time to look at some potential current and former members of the Philadelphia 76ers who have a chance at making the Hall of Fame in the future.

The Sixers already have a decorated Hall of Fame history with the likes of Allen Iverson, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Charles Barkley, and others, but now is the time to examine some players who have donned the Sixers jersey recently.

There are four members Sixers Wire is going to examine, three current and one former member of the team, who have a real shot at making the Hall in the future. This list is in no particular order for those who are into those sorts of things.

Now, lets get into the four players:

WATCH: The complete compilation of Kevin Garnett’s greatest stories told by NBA players and legends

In honor of his Hall of Fame induction, a wide-ranging collection of tales from his storied career.

An induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is the crowning achievement of a long and storied career in the NBA, but one cannot have a storied career of note without the stories that make up its greatness.

To that end, in honor of Boston Celtic icon Kevin Garnett’s entry into the holy of holies for the sport he held so dear, we are sharing this collection of accounts and remembrances of The Big Ticket’s time in the league, both with the Celtics, with whom he won his sole title, and before and after in the other stages of his 21 seasons in the NBA.

Watch or listen to them in the video embedded below put together by Nick Smith with us as we honor KG on his special day as the storm at the center of “ubuntu” gets his just desserts for posterity.

Paul Pierce’s 34 biggest games as a Boston Celtic

In honor of No. 34, here are Pierce’s 34 biggest games as a Celtic.

With Paul Pierce likely poised to become an official Hall of Fame inductee, we thought it appropriate to celebrate No. 34 with a look back at his 34 biggest games with the Boston Celtics across the course of his 15 seasons wearing green and white.

In our own subjective interpretation of what his “biggest” games were, we’ve listed them in ascending order from No. 34 to No. 1, putting a little extra weight in playoff games — but also detracting a little in the big games that came in losses.

We’ve done our best to dig up photos from those games as well, though we’ve had to sub in a few from the games against the same opponent as close as we could get in time — evidently, a career spanning 19 seasons that ended four years past has had a little leakage to the sands of time.

With all that said, let’s dive in.

WATCH: The intensity of Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett

The light-speed motor of The Big Ticket remains unmatched in league history.

Much ink has been spilled and will yet be spilled about legendary Boston Celtics big man Kevin Garnett’s shooting, defense, passing and even trash talk as integral parts of his championship-caliber game.

But we would be remiss without the singular thread tying together all of those talents — the South Carolinian’s intensity, which more than any other aspect of his larger-than-life personality transformed a scrawny 7-foot kid fresh out of Farragut Academy into one of the most feared and respected players of his era. From head-butting stanchions and asking to be taken out of a game because his emotions were too high, to knuckle pushups midgame, KG was never one to hold anything back.

Driven like no other, Garnett is now ensconced in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. Let’s take a look back at this aspect of his game that was the fuel to carry him to such greatness.

To call the 2000 NBA draft weak would be to insult some of the other talent-deficient draft classes in league history, as the 2000 crop might take the cake for being the worst in recent history.

After top overall pick Kenyon Martin, who did at least go on to become a one-time All-Star in his career and play a key role for a New Jersey Nets club that made the Finals back-to-back years, the next three selections were, in order: Stromile SwiftDarius Miles and Marcus Fizer, who averaged 8.4 points, 10.1 points and 9.6 points in their respective careers.

Later selections provided us with Hedo TurkogluMike Miller and Jamal Crawford, as well as second-round gem Michael Redd.

Miller went on to become a two-time champion with the Miami Heat, Crawford became arguably the best Sixth Man in NBA history, with three SMOY awards to his credit while Turkoglu was one of the best European wing players of his era, whose peak included a 20/6/5 campaign for the Orlando Magic.

Redd, meanwhile, had a six-year stretch where he averaged 23.5 points and 4.2 rebounds for the Milwaukee Bucks, made an All-Star appearance and was a member of the 2008 Olympic Redeem Team who brought home gold for the United States.

Below, check out the 2000 NBA re-draft, with players taken in the order we believe they should have gone in.

How many of Boston’s players have been named Finals MVP – and who were they?

Can you name the players — and better yet, the seasons — Boston had a player named Finals MVP?

Even though the award was created in 1969, the final year of the Boston Celtics’ golden era of championships in the 1960s (and despite winning the title, they didn’t have a player win the award), only their rival Los Angeles Lakers can lay claim to more NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards since it was first created.

Since that year, the Celtics have had one of their players named Finals MVP six times total among five total players, one particular superstar getting the nod in two separate Finals Platform. Who are the players, and when are the seasons when they won it?

Make your guesses and scroll down to see how you did.

WATCH: How Celtic champ Kevin Garnett’s jumper set stage for modern stretch bigs

KG changed the game in a number of ways, but his jumper is perhaps among the most important.

In many ways, former Boston Celtic big man Kevin Garnett was a big man ahead of his time. The champion center had mobility, could put in on the court in a pinch, pass the rock when needed — and most importantly, shoot the ball away from the basket.

In the era of ground-bound, back-to-the-basket, lumbering big men, The Big Ticket was almost a polar opposite, using his basketball IQ and intensity in equal parts with his skilled game that helped propel the Celtics to their 17th and most recent title in 2008. A prototypical stretch big that helped define the DNA of the frontcourt player of our age, the folks at ESPN put together a video diving into his floor-stretching trailblazing.

He truly was a forward-looking frontcourt player who likely would have excelled even more in the style of play we see on the court today.

Watch the video embedded above to see how Garnett impacted the modern style of play for most centers and virtually all power forwards in the league today.
