Michigan State football added another wide receiver via the transfer portal on Saturday night.

Central Michigan transfer wide receiver Evan Boyd announced his commitment to the Spartans on Saturday. Boyd made the commitment known via a post on social media platform X.

Boyd is from East Lansing, Mich. and played on season for the Chippewas before entering the portal last month. In his one season for Central Michigan in 2024, he recorded 21 receptions for 302 yards and two touchdowns.

Boyd is the third wide receiver that Michigan State has added via the transfer portal this offseason. He will contend for a spot in the starting lineup next season.

CMU WR transfer, a familiar face, will be visiting Michigan State

A familiar name will be visiting East Lansing this weekend, according to a report from 247Sports’ Allen Trieu. Evan Boyd, who has elected to transfer away from Central Michigan, will be taking a weekend trip to Michigan State.

Boyd, a familiar name and face, is from East Lansing and is the brother of former Spartan Ethan Boyd.

In his redshirt freshman year at CMU, Boyd recorded 21 catches for 302 yards and two touchdowns. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
