Tennessee redshirt sophomore linebacker enters the transfer portal.

Redshirt sophomore linebacker Eunique Valentine has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker announced his decision Saturday.

“I want to thank coach Heup (Josh Heupel) and the Tennessee coaching staff for coaching me to be the best student-athlete I can be,” Valentine announced. “I am very thankful for the outpouring love from the family and the opportunity I was granted.

“With that being said, I am now in the transfer portal with fours years of eligibility left.”

Valentine appeared in one game for the Vols in 2021. He played against Tennessee Tech.

Valentine came to Tennessee from Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee.

KNOXVILLE — Tennessee welcomes a new commitment in 2020 linebacker Eunique Valentine, who will start his college football career as a preferred walk-on.

The Knoxville Central High School linebacker had scholarship offers from other schools outside of the Power 5, and was committed to Navy late in 2019. Citing a desire to stay closer to home, Valentine will join Tennessee in 2020.

Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee’s staff have never been shy about their affinity for recruits who were champions in high school, and Valentine was a key member of a Knoxville Central program coming off back-to-back 5A state championships.

In 2019, Valentine racked up 102 total tackles with 15.5 TFLs and 10 sacks.
