Zach and Julie Ertz donate $100,000 to Philadelphia area food bank amid COVID-19

The Ertz Family Foundation plays a huge role in the Philadelphia community and on Friday afternoon, Eagles tight end Zach Ertz and his wife Julie, announced that they’ve donated $100,000 to Philabundance, an area food bank.

The heartfelt donation will help provide meals to those in need during the COVID-19 outbreak.

“When we started our foundation two years ago, our goal was to be a light for our Philadelphia community. During these very challenging times, Julie and I are committed to acknowledging the issues at hand and to be a part of the solution. Philabundance has an unbelievable track record in our city and we believe there is no better partner to help us solve the food insecurity challenges presented by COVID-19,” said Philadelphia Eagles tight end, Zach Ertz.

During the week, Philabundance will generally provide meals to 90,000 people, 30 percent of whom are children served in the Philadelphia public school system. Others served include seniors, low-income families and single parents in the greater Philadelphia-area.

With Philadelphia area public schools currently suspended due to the outbreak, the meals will come in handy.
