Michigan football had a mega recruiting weekend in Week 10. Though the results on the field weren’t good — the 38-17 loss to Oregon — the Wolverines certainly appear to be having a good weekend when it comes to working to bring in future classes.
LOOK: Recruits invade Ann Arbor for Michigan football vs. Oregon game
One of the top-tier prospects who made it to Ann Arbor for the game was 2027 Baton Rouge (Louisiana) Dunham five-star quarterback Elijah Haven. Haven is the No. 1 player in the country in the initial 247Sports rankings for the class, and he excitedly posted after the game that he has an offer to wear a winged helmet.
After a great time today, I am extremely blessed to say I have been offered a scholarship by the University of Michigan! @DunhamAthletics @NeilWeiner @Coach_Sinagoga @josh7meyer @CoachKCampbell @AKarsch_UM @Jhand319 pic.twitter.com/byJpZIIjeC

Here is how he ranks according to the recruiting services:
* | Ovr | Pos | St | |
247Sports Composite | 5 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
On3 Industry Ranking | 3 | 3 | 1 | 1 |
247Sports | 5 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
On3 | 4 | 11 | 1 | 1 |
ESPN | – | – | – | – |
Rivals | 5 | 2 | – | – |
There is dual coincidence here. First, LSU has the No. 1 player in the 2025 class, Bryce Underwood, committed and Michigan is working hard to flip. Second, the comp from 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins compares him to a former Michigan quarterback who transferred to the SEC.
Supersized dual-threat quarterback with a powerful arm and above-the-rim athleticism. Far from polished at this stage, but together an extremely encouraging 9th-grade campaign, posting an 8-3 record as a first-year starter with green numbers in key statistical areas: 67.7 completion percentage, an average of 12.25 yards per attempt, and a 11.6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Release isn’t always the cleanest, but can make a variety of different throws and from a variety of different platforms. Ability to avoid pressure and buy himself chances certainly separates him from some of his peers as he has proven to be a smooth mover in the pocket with a promising internal clock. More than capable of moving the chains on designed runs, especially with a 6-foot-4 frame that’s pushing 210 pounds, but keeps defenses honest with his shots to the second and third levels. Must keep evolving, but should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level with an extremely high ceiling given the clay.
Of course, there’s a long way to go in Haven’s recruitment, but it’s good the Wolverines are establishing a relationship early and that they hosted him on campus.
