Ranking Auburn’s top 50 players: Nos. 30-26

What do you think about these rankings for Auburn’s 2021 football team?

Ahead of 2021, Auburn Wire is ranking the top 50 players on Auburn’s roster

This list attempts to include past production and their assumed production in 2021. It is not a ranking of the 50 best players in order. If a freshman or newcomer is higher than a returning player his ranking is based more on the projection of his abilities and importance to that position group.

The next group is players 30-26.

USA TODAY names Auburn’s breakout stars from spring practice

Auburn wide receiver Elijah Canion and safety Ladarius Tennison were named the two breakout stars for the Tigers in spring practice.

Auburn is looking for some players to step up in Bryan Harsin’s first season in charge on the Plains.

After spring practice and the annual A-Day Game, USA TODAY Sports recognized two players who could take the leap for the Tigers this fall.

Per Josh Vitale:

Emerging offensive player: Elijah Canion, sophomore wide receiver. Ja’Varrius Johnson was the talk of spring practice, but it was the 6-foot-4 Canion who shined with six catches for 51 yards and a touchdown on A-Day, building on his breakout three-catch, 80-yard, one-touchdown performance in January’s Citrus Bowl.

Emerging defensive player: Ladarius Tennison, sophomore safety. Tennison became a starter at nickelback late last season, moved to safety this spring and instantly became one of the players Auburn’s new coaching staff is the most excited about on defense. He has a great chance to start next to senior Smoke Monday.

Canion’s performance in the Citrus Bowl was certainly something that the Tigers can build on as he tries to fill the shoes of Seth Williams as Bo Nix’s go-to receiver.

Tennison is part of a loaded secondary that should be a strength of the Tigers this season. He finished last season with 21 total tackles (13 solo) and should be even more productive in 2021.

Auburn Spring Practice: Who steps up at the wide receiver position?

Auburn has an inexperienced but talented wide receivers corps that will need to step up for the Tigers’ passing game in 2021.

I have a lot of questions about every aspect of Auburn football ahead of spring practice, but the wide receiver position is by far the most mysterious. This offseason the Tigers lost the majority of their wide receiver production in the departures of Seth Williams, Eli Stove, and Anthony Schwartz to the NFL.

It’s ‘next man up’ time and there are many fresh faces due to step up for the Tigers. I have no idea what the starting lineup is going to look like as that is Cornelius Williams’ job, but here’s everybody who’ll be competing:
