NFL fans loved that Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shivers’ was the music for a central Aaron Rodgers Hard Knocks montage

Aaron Rodgers is giving the Jets the shivers.

The latest season of HBO’s Hard Knocks debuted on Tuesday night, and it’s already causing quite a stir in the football world. There was Aaron Rodgers going wild for actor Liev Schreiber — the narrating voice of the show. In another sequence, a Jets’ offensive lineman had a hilarious mispronunciation of the word “charcuterie.”

But the most notable sequence might have been when everyone on the Jets started to gush about Rodgers, the organization’s first true franchise quarterback in decades. A clip begins with rapid-fire shots of Aaron Rodgers throwing darts to his receivers in succession.

And fittingly: Ed Sheeran’s “Shivers,” a song about the electric feeling of being with the right person, serves as the theme.

Honestly, I get it.

The Jets have been so downtrodden for so long, a fixture in the AFC’s basement, that Rodgers gives them real hope they haven’t had in years. Picking an on-the-nose contemporary melody about New York finding the right quarterback is a masterful artistic decision.

WATCH: Ed Sheeran wearing Commanders jersey at FedEx Field concert

Ed Sheeran wore a customized Washington jersey for his Saturday concert at FedEx Field.

Ed Sheeran is one of the most popular musicians in the world and has been for the past decade. On Saturday night, Sheeran held a concert at FedEx Field in front of thousands of fans.

FedEx Field, of course, is the home of the Washington Commanders. Sheeran took the stage Saturday wearing a Washington Commanders’ jersey. The jersey, No. 5, is the number of Washington’s Pro Bowl punter, Tress Way.

Don’t get too excited, Tress. Sheeran’s jersey was customized, with “Subtract” on the nameplate.

Here’s Sheeran in action Saturday.

Throughout the night, Sheeran’s fans posted images of FedEx Field on Twitter, and it looked a lot different than a Commanders’ home game.

And here’s another image:

The Commanders would love to see that type of crowd at FedEx Field cheering them on, and suddenly there is hope that success is around the corner.

Daniel Snyder has been Washington’s owner for the last 24 years — all at FedEx Field. Next month, the NFL will vote to likely approve Snyder’s sale of the Commanders to Josh Harris, bringing a new era to the DMV. Harris hopes to recreate those images from Sheeran’s concert at FedEx Field in future seasons.

¿¿¿Drops of Jupiter??? No, nadie NFL.

Fans roasted the NFL over this graphic announcing Ed Sheeran as the Kickoff Concert performer

This graphic is amazing.

The 2021 NFL season kicks off tomorrow night in Tampa with the Bucs hosting the Cowboys and, as has become tradition, there will be a big party and concert thrown by the NFL before the game.

The NFL seemingly loves to find musical groups/performers that don’t inspire any kind of excitement for an upcoming football game/season. A few years ago they had the band Train perform, which has to be the definition of rock bottom. You guys ready to get pumped up with some… Drops of Jupiter????!!! No, nobody is, NFL.

The league used an goofy graphic this week on social media to announce this year’s big performer who is… Ed Sheeran? Listen, Ed is a very talented fella, don’t get me wrong. But this just feels so random… and so NFL

I mean, LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOO, right?
