LOOK: New Chiefs DE Carlos Dunlap appears to have a jersey number

The newest #Chiefs edge rusher already appears to have been assigned a jersey number and it’s a familiar one.

Carlos Dunlap hasn’t been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs for that long, but he already appears to have been assigned a jersey number.

Dunlap shared a picture on his Instagram story of a No. 8 Chiefs jersey with his name on it. KSHB-TV producer Nick Jacobs shared the post on Twitter. The caption reads: “Wow. . . they know, great selling point too, they really showing love! Where do I sign lol.”

It’s a familiar jersey number for Dunlap, who wore the No. 8 jersey with the Seahawks last season. He switched from the No. 43 jersey which he wore with Seattle in 2020 when the NFL adopted new rules expanding the usage of single-digit jersey numbers. Dunlap also wore No. 96 with the Cincinnati Bengals for his entire tenure with that team.

The No. 8 jersey was previously worn by WR Justyn Ross this offseason. He was recently placed on injured reserve and is out for the season. As a result, this jersey number was up for grabs.

Notre Dame Offers Yet Another ’21 Running Back

Notre Dame is yet to land any running back commitments in their 2021 recruiting class and made another offer on Thursday.

Since Will Shipley made a commitment to Clemson a couple weeks back, Notre Dame has been desperately trying to find a running back to add to their 2021 recruiting class.

Their latest offer was made on Thursday as they offered three-star running back Tavierre Dunlap of Del Valle, Texas.

Dunlap is listed at 6-0, 196 pounds and ran for 1341 yards as a high school junior, finding the end zone 23 times total.

Dunlap now has 35 offers from most of the very good, but not great programs.  The likes of Arizona State, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern, TCU and USC have offered along with plenty of others.

Notre Dame currently sits with ten commitments for the 2021 class.  One of those however is very much up in the air it appears and zero of the ten are at the running back position.
