Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions, opinions for No. 6 Oregon vs. California

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions, opinions for No. 6 Oregon vs. California

The Oregon Ducks are the got talk of the town in the world of college football right now, which means that we personally have a lot to talk about. Whether it’s Bo Nix Heisman Trophy odds, College Football Playoff rankings, or potential trips to the national championship game, there are endless storylines right now for Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

Of course, none of those storylines will come to fruition if Oregon can’t take care of business this week against an improved California Golden Bears team that has one of the better offenses in the Pac-12.

As we do each and every week, let’s preview the action with Ducks Wire writers Zachary Neel, Don Smalley, and Miles Dwyer.

Here is your ninth regular-season Ducks Wire roundtable of the 2023 season. Enjoy.

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions, opinions for No. 8 Oregon vs. No. 13 Utah

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions, opinions for No. 8 Oregon vs. No. 13 Utah

Once again, we are being gifted with an elite matchup between two teams in the top 25 that happen to have a great history against each other. While the No. 8 Oregon Ducks and No. 13 Utah Utes may not have a rivalry that goes back decades into the past, the meetings that they’ve had over the past 10 years have been impactful, to say the least.

There’s a good bet that this game on Saturday down in Salt Lake City is going to be highly impactful as well, with the winner taking a seat on the inside track to get to the Pac-12 Championship Game, and quite possibly to end up in the College Football Playoff as well.

It’s going to be physical, it’s going to be cold, and it’s going to be fun to watch.

To preview the action, Ducks Wire writers Zachary Neel, Don Smalley, and Miles Dwyer made predictions and offered opinions on what we might see.

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions, opinions for Oregon vs. Portland State

How much of the playbook do we see? How do Oregon fans measure success in an expected blowout? We give our predictions for Saturday.

We’ve been waiting patiently for the last eight months, but at long last everyone from fans to players to coaches are ready to get the 2023 college football season underway.

The Oregon Ducks will kick things off on Saturday afternoon against the Portland State Vikings in a non-conference matchup that is not expected to be very competitive. While we may not see a close game, we will get a great look at some major questions that fans have had all offseason with the Ducks reshaping their roster in Year 2 under head coach Dan Lanning.

To help preview all of the action, Ducks Wire writers Zachary Neel, and Miles Dwyer got together to make predictions and offer opinions on what we might see.

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predicting the Pac-12 awards for the 2023 season

The Pac-12 media day is later this week, so we wanted to get our year-end award predictions on record.

The 2023 college football season officially begins for the Pac-12 later this week, when coaches and select players all convene in Las Vegas for the annual Pac-12 Media Day.

Dan Lanning will be in attendance alongside QB Bo Nix and LB Jeffrey Bassa, talking to media members around the league and previewing the upcoming season, where the Ducks hope to make it back to Las Vegas for the conference title game in December.

One of the best things that come out of the Pac-12 Media Day is award predictions from the top media members in the conference. A select group of reporters is asked to predict who they think will win the year-end awards, such as Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

Here at Ducks Wire, we wanted to do the same, so we brought together our first roundtable of the year to give a preview of the Pac-12 as a whole and see if we could predict who some of the biggest award-winners would be in 2023.

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions and opinions for the Oregon vs. UCLA game

How big of a factor will the elements be? What are our final score predictions? We’ve got it all in our Ducks Wire roundtable.

Not only did last week’s by for the Oregon Ducks provide the team and players an opportunity to sit back for a week and recover after the opening half of the season, but it also allowed us at Ducks Wire to do the same, focusing on the first six weeks as a whole rather than getting into the nitty gritty of game previews.

That’s all behind us, though, and we are as excited as ever to be back together and getting ready for what looks like an incredible matchup between the No. 9 Oregon Ducks and No. 10 UCLA Bruins.

It will feature two candidates for the Heisman Trophy, two teams that have a good chance of making it to the Pac-12 Championship, if not the College Football Playoff, and the return of a coach who should be known by nothing less than a legend in Eugene — Chip Kelly.

To help preview all of the action, Ducks Wire writers Zachary Neel, and Don Smalley got together to make predictions, and offer opinions on what we might see.

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions and opinions for the Oregon vs. Eastern Washington

Time for another roundtable. We got together to formulate some predictions for Oregon’s game against Eastern Washington.

After a long offseason came to an end last week for the Oregon Ducks, the fan base was likely hoping for a more exciting conclusion.

The Ducks got trampled by the Bulldogs, and now the team is in a position where they have a lot to prove to remind the nation that they are as good of a team as we thought they would be coming into the 2022 season.

While a win against the Eastern Washington Eagles on Saturday won’t offer a chance to completely save face, it will provide an opportunity for Oregon to prove that they simply had a bad game against Georgia, which will likely be the case for a lot of teams this season.

Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predictions and opinions for the Oregon vs. Georgia

The Ducks Wire staff got together and predicted a close game between Oregon and Georgia. Here’s how the Ducks are going to make that happen.

A long, long offseason is coming to an end at last.

While we got some reprieve during the spring with a fascinating look at how Dan Lanning and his new staff plan to operate in Eugene, the last 9 months have mostly been spent trying to get rid of the bitter taste that last season’s close brought Duck fans.

No longer will the Ducks be running the vanilla scheme that we’ve seen in Eugene over the past few years. Now a young coaching staff has come in and expectations are for things to be explosive. A lot has changed with the Ducks in the past year, but one thing will stay the same throughout the remainder of the season — our Ducks Wire Roundtable is here to get you ready for the upcoming matchup.

To help preview all of the action, Ducks Wire writers Zachary Neel, Don Smalley, and Andy Patton got together to make predictions, and offer opinions on what we might see. Man, it’s great to be back.
