Oklahoma earns commitment from 2024 3-Star WR Dozie Ezukanma

The Sooners land their second commitment of the day in 2024 3-Star WR Dozie Ezukanma

The ball is rolling for the Oklahoma Sooners on the recruiting trail after a couple weeks of camps and two big-time recruiting weekends. Not long after earning a commitment from linebacker James Nesta, the Sooners picked up a commitment from 2024 three-star wide wide receiver [autotag]Dozie Ezukanma[/autotag].

Ezukanma has been on the Sooners’ radar since the addition of Emmett Jones to Oklahoma’s coaching staff. Jones was recruiting the athletic safety during his time as the wide receivers coach at Texas Tech.

Dozie is the younger brother of former Texas Tech and now Miami Dolphins wide receiver Erik Ezukanma. Here’s what I had to say about Dozie after he was offered by the Sooners earlier this month.

Like his older brother, Dozie has the size and athleticism to be a dynamic playmaker at the collegiate level. He’s a three-star prospect with On3 and 247Sports and has notable offers from Arkansas, Miami, Oregon, Oklahoma, Missouri, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Wisconsin. – Williams, Sooners Wire

The Sooners offered Dozie Ezukanma on June 8 and less than two weeks later he’s the third wide receiver committed to the Sooners 2024 class.

Ezukanma joins four-star wide receiver [autotag]Zion Kearney[/autotag] and three-star wide receiver [autotag]K.J. Daniels[/autotag] and is the eighth commitment in the 2024 recruiting class.

Oklahoma Sooners offer 2024 3-Star WR Dozie Ezukanma

The Oklahoma Sooners offered 3-Star wide receiver out of Texas, Dozie Ezukanma.

The Oklahoma Sooners search for wide receivers continued this week at Brent Venables camp when Oklahoma offered 2024 three-star wide receiver Dozie Ezukanma.

Ezukanma hails from Fort Worth, Texas and plays his high school ball at All Saints Episcopal. In 2022 with Timber Creek in Keller, Texas, Ezukanma recorded 42 receptions for 587 yards and six touchdowns, according to 247Sports.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Dozie is the younger brother of former Texas Tech great and current Miami Dolphins wide receiver Erik Ezukanma.

Like his older brother, Dozie has the size and athleticism to be a dynamic playmaker at the collegiate level. He’s a three-star prospect with On3 and 247Sports and has notable offers from Arkansas, Miami, Oregon, Oklahoma, Missouri, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin.

Texas A&M offers 2024 3-star WR Dozie Ezukanma

Texas A&M looking for more speed at wide receiver for the future, fielding an offer to 2024 3-star WR Dozie Ezukhanma on Thursday

Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher must have been fans of former Texas Tech wide receiver Erik Ezukanma because if you didn’t know, he has a brother by the name of Dozie Ezukanma, who happens to be a four-star wide receiver in the 2024 class, and just received an offer from Texas A&M.

According to 247Sports, Ezukanma is ranked as the 85th wide receiver and 101th-ranked player in Texas. So far, he’s received 14 offers including Arizona, Arkansas, Houston, Kansas, and Kansas State, as the Aggies are officially his biggest offer, and hopefully his his most intriguing.

Entering his senior season at All Saints Episcopal in Forth Worth, Texas, Ezukanma recorded 42 receptions for 587 yards and 6 touchdowns during his 2022 junior campaign, including 1 kick return touchdown. Outside of football, his athleticism hasn’t been wasted, as he also competes in track and field, recording sophomore bests of 21.4.25 in the long jump and 39-1.75 in the triple jump in the Spring of 2022.

Standing at 6-2 and 180 pounds, Ezukanma has the size and speed to emulate what his brother was able to do at the collegiate level, and with the success Texas A&M has had at developing the wide receiver position over the last decade, the Aggies will surely be on his mind.
