KNOXVILLE — The 2019 Early Signing Period for football is underway. Tennessee is in the process of completing its 2020 football recruiting class.

KNOXVILLE — Tennessee safety target Doneiko Slaughter announced his decommitment from Arizona State on Friday.

The 2020 prospect’s decommitment came just three days after his official visit to Tennessee.

On Saturday, Slaughter committed to the Vols. The 5-foot-11, 178-pound defensive back is from Roswell High School in Roswell, Ga.

Tennessee first offered Slaughter on August 1 after attending a camp at UT in June.

Vols’ DB target decommits from Arizona State

2020 Tennessee football recruiting.

Tennessee safety target Doneiko Slaughter announced his decommitment from Arizona State on Friday, opening the door for a possible commitment to UT.

Slaughter’s decommitment comes just three days after his official visit to Tennessee, and the prospect out of Roswell, Ga. currently holds offers from Miami, Mississippi State, Boise State, UCF and others.

Rated a three-star prospect by the 247 Sports Composite, Slaughter is listed as the No. 51 safety prospect in the country.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Class of 2020 safety racked up 75 tackles and five interceptions during his senior season with Roswell High School.

This comes less than a week before the start of the Early Signing Period, which takes place from Dec. 18-20. National Signing Day will be Feb. 5, when college football programs across the country will wrap up their 2020 recruiting classes.
