Battle between rookie quarterbacks Justin Herbert, Tua Tagovailoa set

The Dolphins announced Tua Tagovailoa as the starting quarterback moving forward.

The Dolphins made a change at the quarterback position on Tuesday.

After having Ryan Fitzpatrick start the first six games of the season, rookie Tua Tagovailoa is taking over after Miami’s bye week.

The Chargers are set to take on the Dolphins in Week 10, which means that it will be a battle of two first-year quarterback.

Tagovailoa was taken with the No. 5 overall selection while Justin Herbert was selected one pick after in this year’s draft.

Had Miami elected to take Herbert, Los Angeles would have taken Tagovailoa to be the future face of the franchise.

So far, L.A. is happy to have been able to land Herbert, given the type of production he’s had in his first four professional starts.

Meanwhile, the production of Tagovailoa remains to be seen. He saw the field last weekend against the Jets, going 2-of-2 for nine yards. Tua is talented, but durability is the biggest question mark.
