The offseason has quickly come for the Miami Dolphins and the team is now bracing for the 2020 NFL Combine — but the South Florida community is bracing for a challenge of their own in the coming days:
Topping the results of the 2019 Dolphins Cancer Challenge this year. The Miami Dolphins’ annual cancer fundraiser is set to boom at the end of this month, but the festivities have technically already started as the Dolphins held their annual Celebrity Golf Tournament yesterday at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort — and Brian Flores, among many other prominent Dolphins figures, was on hand to kick off the event.

“This is something that is near and dear to me, how we fight this one — my mom passed away from cancer a year ago,” said Flores as he addressed participants of the fundraiser.
“I think it’s just, the support and the donations, they’re so, so important and it’s just great to see so many people come out and support the fight against cancer.”
The next hurdle for the Dolphins Cancer Challenge comes in two weeks — February 29th marks the culmination of the fundraising efforts with a number of runs, rides and other events in South Florida. With over 3,300 participants already enrolled, it’s sure to be another successful venture for the Dolphins in the fight against cancer.
