Notre Dame running back shares sadness for homestate over Hurricane Ida

Our thoughts are with all of those affected by Hurricane Ida.

It’s hard enough going to college and being away from home for the first time, but can you imagine doing that while one of the fiercest hurricanes in the last decade sweeps through your hometown?

That’s what Notre Dame freshman running back Logan Diggs is dealing with as his hometown of Marrero, Louisiana was in the direct path of Hurricane Ida, the category four hurricane that ripped through Louisiana on Sunday.

Diggs took to Twitter to share his concerns back home late Sunday night:

Veteran wide receiver Lawrence Keys, III is the only other current Notre Dame football player from Louisiana as he hails from New Orleans and also shared concerns Monday.

Notre Dame opens their 2021 football season this Sunday when they travel to Florida State.
