DiJonai Carrington had a hysterical response to her game-saving chase-down block against the Lynx

Even DiJonai Carrington was impressed with DiJonai Carrington.

DiJonai Carrington had a hysterical response to her game-saving chase-down block against the Minnesota Lynx Thursday.

Listen, I gave the Connecticut Sun grief in my weekly WNBA power rankings for looking like absolute frauds since they lost to the New York Liberty in early June. They hadn’t beaten any teams over .500, but that changed when they won a nail-biter against Minnesota.

The game was back-and-forth until Napheesa Collier unfortunately went out with a foot injury. That’s when the Connecticut Sun took advantage and pulled out a gutsy win thanks to DiJonai Carrington unleashing the FILTHIEST block on poor Kayla McBride. WHEW, GIRL.

The block was such an amazing feat that even DiJonai had to make a comment about it. Here’s her hysterical response to her efforts:

Serena Williams applauds Caitlin Clark’s lack of online presence

Tennis star Serena Williams has been in the media recently applauding Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.

Tennis star Serena Williams has been in the media recently discussing the WNBA, from being interested in owning a franchise one day to applauding Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.

“I love that she tries to stay grounded,” said Williams. “She says she doesn’t look at her social (media). I get it. I don’t either. I think it’s so important to just continue to do what she’s doing. No matter what other people do. If people are negative, it’s because they can’t do what you do. Hopefully, she’ll continue to do what she’s doing.”

Williams and her sister, Venus, dealt with a lot of scrutiny at a young age in the world of tennis, not only for their age and prowess, but also for their race. The pair were constantly harassed both on and off the court.

“I was bullied. Things that I had to go through, people would be canceled for saying now,” Williams said.

It is difficult to constantly be the center of media and fan attention, especially at such a young age. However, it comes with the territory of being a professional athlete. Williams applauded Clark’s efforts to stay off social media, but Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington was disappointed Clark did not use her platform to speak out against those who have disparaged other WNBA players in the league.

“Dawg. How one can not be bothered by their name being used to justify racism, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia & the intersectionalities of them all is nuts,” Carrington wrote. “We all see the (expletive). We all have a platform. We all have a voice & they all hold weight. Silence is a luxury.”

DiJonai Carrington trolled Caitlin Clark for her flopping habit after fouling the Fever rookie

DiJonai Carrington trolled Caitlin Clark’s penchant for flopping during this Monday WNBA game.

Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington got some trolling in at Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark during their teams’ Monday evening tilt.

After the refs called Carrington for a foul on Clark, the Sun guard mocked Clark by making dramatic gestures that referenced Clark’s reputation for flopping to get calls during games.

While this was a call-it-or-don’t foul that could’ve gone either way, Carrington seemed very annoyed by it and quickly pointed to Clark’s ability to sell fouls to make them seem worse than they actually are.

If Clark has accomplished one goal definitively by her WNBA arrival, she’s getting the fiercest push from her opponents. The rivalries are forming before our eyes, and it’s a blast to see them come to life in real time.
