The Diamondbacks had a solid 2019 going 85-77, but fell short of the postseason, four games out of the wild card. They were, however, the second-best NL team and fourth best in the majors vs. the run line, posting a 90-72 record. They were dead even vs. the Over/Under, going 76-76-10. In the NL West, they were an even 38-38 straight up and 41-35 against the run line.
Arizona Diamondbacks’ offseason
They made a splash, adding SP Madison Bumgarner. They also signed C Stephen Vogt, OF Kole Calhoun and RP Hector Rondon, and acquired OF Starling Marte in a trade. SP Mike Leake, added at last year’s trade deadline, has opted out of the 60-game season, while OF Steven Souza Jr., SP Taijuan Walker, RP Yoshihisa Hirano and C Alex Avila signed free-agent deals with other clubs.

The D-Backs’ win total is just over .500 at 30.5, with the Over at -120 and the Under at +100. They definitely should be improved with the additions of Bumgarner and Marte. The starting rotation is not spectacular, but it is deep and they don’t have problems scoring runs. They will be in the mix in the NL West. Take the OVER (-120) 30.5 WINS.

At +5000, the D-Backs are a long shot to win the World Series. They have a tough road with the Los Angeles Dodgers in their division. Arizona is talented, but will need lot of things to go right at the right time to be considered a good bet for the title. AVOID.

In terms of winning the NL pennant, they are +2500. That is NOT WORTH a bet. They are +1000 to win the NL West, but having to beat out the Dodgers is just about impossible. AVOID making any futures bet on the Diamondbacks.
