Here are the 2025 and 2026 prospects who visited Texas A&M for junior day this weekend

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has already proven his recruiting chops after a successful junior day hosting weekend.

For those still doubting Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s ability to recruit, this weekend’s successful junior day already yielded the Aggie’s third commit in the 2025 recruiting class, as 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway committed to the program in the late hours of Saturday night.

Joining 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins and 3-star offensive lineman Joshua Moore, more recruiting momentum looks to be on the horizon, as nearly every 2025 and 2026 prospect who visited College Station this weekend made their way to social media to thank every coach and family member involved during their recruiting journey.

Elko’s recent success through the transfer portal this offseason, already rebuilding A&M’s 2024 roster in less than two months at the helm, should continue to pay dividends in recruiting, displaying a strikingly polar opposite demeanor compared to former head coach Jimbo Fisher, displaying a non-sales man approach with this relationship building tactics.

Here is a list of nearly every prospect who visited College Station this weekend for junior day.

BREAKING: 2025 4-Star CB Deyjhon Pettaway has committed to Texas A&M

Boom! Within 48 hours, Texas A&M has landed two of the top 2025 in-state prospects, including 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway.

Boom! After Texas A&M landed a commitment from 2025 4-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins on Friday night, fellow 2025 in-state defender, 4-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway, announced his commitment to the program on Saturday night.

Pettaway, whose brother is current incoming sophomore Texas A&M linebacker Daymion Sanford, has long been connected to the program since his early playing days. While former Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher was his primary recruiter, Elko’s elite defensive background has undoubtedly played a part in why he has been a favorite to land with the program since the start of his recruitment.

Taking multiple visits this month, including one on Saturday during the Aggies’ second junior day of the year, Pettaway announced via X that he was “1,000% committed.”

Earlier this month, Pettaway sat down with AggiesToday to provide more insight on his official visit to College Station, including what new head coach Mike Elko brings to the table:

“Man, the new staff is great. You can really tell they want change, the conversations hold more meaning and weight. They have the teaching, resources, mindset, and mentality to win.”

According to 247Sports Composite, Pettaway is currently positioned as the 138th player in the 2025 cycle, the 11th-ranked safety prospect (slated to stick to corner at the next level) and the 24th-ranked player in Texas.

2025 4-Star CB from Paetow (TX) is predicted to land with Texas A&M

According to On3’s Sam Spiegelman, 2025 4-Star CB Deyjhon Pettaway is now predicted to land with Texas A&M.

Even though Texas A&M has yet its first player in the 2025 recruiting cycle, new head football coach Mike Elko is hard at work after hosting a bevy of talented 2025 prospects, including four-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway, on Saturday.

Pettaway, whose brother is current incoming sophomore Texas A&M linebacker Daymion Sanford, has long been connected to the program since his early playing days. While former Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher was his primary recruiter, Elko’s elite defensive background has undoubtedly played a part in a favorite to land with A&M when all is said and done.

Instead of relying on my opinion, according to On3’s Sam Spiegelman, Pettaway is now predicted to land with the Aggies by a large margin percentage-wise, holding a 96.8% prediction advantage. For more context, Spiegelman’s confidence level with said prediction is at 70%.

As I covered last weekend, Pettaway’s recent discussion with AggiesToday after his official visit to College Station spoke volumes regarding the direction Elko is already taking the program and how his tactics have already impressed several 2025 prospects:

“Man, the new staff is great. You can really tell they want change, the conversations hold more meaning and weight. They have the teaching, resources, mindset, and mentality to win.”

Pettaway is currently positioned as the 22nd-ranked cornerback and the 31st-ranked player in Texas, according to On3.

2025 4-Star CB Deyjhon Pettaway details his visit during Texas A&M’s junior day

Speaking with AggiesToday, 2025 4-star CB Deyjhon Pettaway detailed his encouraging visit to Texas A&M during the annual junior day.

Amid all the news surrounding Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s tight grip on the transfer portal, already gaining 22 players in the last two months, Elko and his now complete staff hosted a long list of 2025 prospects this weekend, including four-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway.

According to On3, Pettaway is currently positioned as the 22nd-ranked cornerback and the 31st-ranked player in Texas. Entering his senior season at Paetow High School in Katy (TX), the rising defender shares a deep connection with Texas A&M, as his brother is Aggies linebacker Daymion Sanford, who will be competing for a starting position in 2024.

In a recent conversation with AggiesToday, Pettaway detailed his visit, providing a future outlook for a Texas A&M program under new management.

“Man, the new staff is great. You can really tell they want change, the conversations hold more meaning and weight. They have the teaching, resources, mindset, and mentality to win.”

While Pettaway’s instant connection with his brother Daymion stands out the most, Mike Elko has already embraced A&M’s culture, wiping away the consistent mediocrity and shattered hopes that plagued former head coach Jimbo Fisher during his last two seasons at the helm.

2025 4-Star CB out of Katy (TX) will attend Texas A&M’s junior day this weekend

Texas A&M’s junior day list continues to grow, as 2025 4-star CB Deyjhon Pettaway will make his way to College Station this weekend.

Texas A&M’s junior day list has grown day by day leading up to this weekend’s festivities, as head coach Mike Elko and his staff will host a bevy of talented 2025 recruits at nearly every position, including four-star wide receivers Adrian Wilson and Taz Williams, and five-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett.

Focused on adding more depth at cornerback, a position that has plagued the Aggies for the last two years from a talent/experience level, it has been confirmed by On3’s Sam Spiegelman that 2025 four-star CB Deyjhon Pettaway will make his way to College Station this weekend.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine gives the Aggies a 93.7% chance of landing Pettaway, making this weekend’s visit an ample opportunity for Elko to potentially lock down his first commitment in the 2025 cycle.

2025 4-star CB Deyjhon Pettaway will visit Texas A&M this weekend

It has been reported that 2025 4-star cornerback DeyJhon Pettaway will be attending Texas A&M’s recruiting pool party this weekend.

Texas A&M’s visitors’ list for this weekend’s annual recruiting pool party has grown exponentially over the past two months, as both the 2024 and 2025 recruiting cycle will be well represented with over nine to possibly ten five-star prospects making their way to College Station for one of the most important weekends as July comes to an end.

One of the more coveted 2025 prospects, four-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway announced via Twitter that he’ll be attending this weekend’s festivities as Jimbo Fisher and his staff attempt to make a dent in the 2025 cycle in the midst of making their final impressions on several key 2024 prospects, including five-star Athlete Terry Bussey, and four-star offensive lineman Blake Ivy.

Pettaway is entering his junior season at Paetow High School in Katy, Texas, the former home of his brother and current freshman linebacker Daymion Sanford, as well as freshman defensive lineman David Hicks Jr., a five-star recruit in the 2023 cycle.

Standing at 5-10 and 164 pounds, I have zero doubt that Pettaway will grow while adding healthy weight in the next two seasons, but overall, he’s already displayed the traits needed to succeed at the position once he enters the collegiate ranks. During his 2022 junior season, Pettaway recorded 26 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception on the year.

According to 247Sports, he is currently positioned as the 49th-ranked player in the class, the 7th-ranked cornerback, and the 4th-ranked player in Texas.
