Bucs fans respond to Devonta Freeman’s tweet telling the Bucs to ‘reach out’

See what fans had to say on Twitter to RB Devonta Freeman telling the Bucs to “reach out.”

Free agent running back Devonta Freeman is still looking for a new team to call his own. The former Atlanta Falcons running back has been garnering interest from teams, but has yet to put pen to paper.

The Buccaneers are apparently one of the teams interested in his services, looking to add veteran experience to a young backfield that includes two rookies picked up in April’s draft.

Freeman has heard the rumors connecting him to the Bucs and sent out a tweet recently telling the Buccaneers to “reach out to me directly.” While the Bucs have yet to do so, Tampa Bay fans were more than willing to respond to Freeman’s tweet.

Take a look.

Devonta Freeman tells the Buccaneers to ‘reach out to me directly’

Free agent running back Devonta Freeman went on Twitter to send a message to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked up two running backs in April’s NFL draft in Ke’Shawn Vaughn (third round) and Raymond Calais (seventh round) to help bolster a backfield that lost Peyton Barber this offseason in free agency.

Vaughn and Calais will be joining incumbent starter Ronald Jones, who finished his 2019 sophomore campaign with 724 rushing yards to go along with six touchdowns. But the Bucs could definitely use an experienced veteran back to help their offense and new quarterback Tom Brady, and one name that keeps coming up is former Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman.

Freeman, who was part of the Falcons team that blew a 28-3 lead to Brady’s Patriots in Super Bowl LI, took to Twitter yesterday to let the Bucs know he’s ready to talk if they are.

Take a look.

Freeman would be a welcome addition to the Bucs. While he hasn’t surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark since 2016, he wouldn’t have to worry about carrying the entire workload himself given the number of talented backs Tampa Bay has. A running back by committee system might work in his favor and allow him to save his body for a postseason run.

In other words, pick up the phone, Bucs!
