PFF: Georgia DTs graded as best in SEC

A couple of UGA DT’s lead the SEC…

Georgia football finished the regular season with one of the best defenses we’ve seen at the collegiate level.

The Dawgs allowed only 83 points all season and held all 12 opponents to 17 points or less for the first time since Texas in 1979.

While Georgia slipped-up in the SEC Championship, a 12-game sample shouldn’t go unnoticed.

A big part of that dominance in 2021 is thanks to a pair of senior defensive tackles.

PFF (Pro Football Focus) has Bulldogs Devonte Wyatt and Jordan Davis graded as the top preforming SEC defensive tackles over their careers.

During the regular season, Georgia allowed just three run plays of 10 yards or more.

Davis was named first-team All-SEC and Wyatt was selected to the second-team. 10 Bulldogs made the league’s all-conference teams, the most in the SEC.

The Bulldogs will need Wyatt and Davis to wreak havoc versus a stout Michigan offensive line in the Orange Bowl to have a shot at a national title.

Set your clocks, it’s the Dawgs and Wolverines on New Year’s Eve.
