Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Detroit Pistons (7-10) and Orlando Magic (10-7) meet Saturday. Tip-off from Kia Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pistons vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Magic swept 4-0 last season

Detroit suffered a 123-121 OT loss at the Charlotte Hornets Thursday as a 2-point favorite. G Cade Cunningham put up 27 points, 10 assists, and 7 boards in the loss, but his 9-of-26 shooting from the field and the Pistons’ 19 turnovers proved to be fatal. The Pistons have lost back-to-back games.

Orlando escaped with a 119-118 win at the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday as a 5-point underdog. F Franz Wagner put up an impressive 37 points with 11 assists to help the Magic overcome their 17 turnovers in the win. Missed free throws in the clutch from Lakers F/C Anthony Davis directly led to Orlando’s win.

Pistons at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 102, Pistons 91

Moneyline

PASS.

With Cunningham out, the Magic (-450) will easily win, but they are not worth the risk of betting on as such heavy favorites. Pass here, and bet the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -9.5 (-105).

Orlando has covered the spread in 7 of its last 8 games, while the Pistons have dropped back-to-back games ATS. The Magic are also 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

Be aware that Detroit is a scrappy team, so it is very possible that the Pistons could cover here even with Cunningham out.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 207.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 3 of Detroit’s last 4 games and is 6-4 in its last 10. For Orlando, the Under is 7-1 in its last 8 games.

The Under is also 6-1 in the last 7 meetings and has hit in 4 straight.

Orlando is third in defensive efficiency this season, so with Cunningham out for Detroit, the Under is an obvious bet here.

Analyzing Sunday’s Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Orlando Magic (34-26) welcome the Detroit Pistons (9-50) to the Kia Center Sunday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Pistons vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Magic lead 3-0

The Magic beat the Utah Jazz 115-107 Thursday, covering as 6.5-point home favorites. They have won 2 in a row and 5 of their last 6, covering the spread in 4 of those 6. Orlando is 39-21 against the spread (ATS) on the season. It is led by F Paolo Banchero, who is averaging 22.8 points per game (PPG).

The Pistons lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-100 Friday, failing to cover as 7-point home underdogs. Detroit has lost 7 of its last 8 games, yet is 3-1 ATS in its last 4. Pistons at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 114, Pistons 100

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic have beat the Pistons in all 3 games and beat the Pistons by 32 in Orlando earlier in the season. However, they certainly aren’t worth any wager at -590.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -11 (-110).

The Pistons have failed to cover 3 of their last 5 games as double-digit underdogs. Detroit lost by just 3 to Orlando Feb. 24 but shot over 50% from the field. That is unlikely to repeat itself.

The Magic are 3-1 ATS in their last 4 games as double-digit favorites. Orlando has a strong defense that should limit what Detroit can do offensively. The Magic are a league-best 19-8 ATS at home.

Back MAGIC -11 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 217 (-110).

The Magic have gone Under in 4 straight games and have allowed Under 110 points in each. They have held 6 straight opponents Under that threshold. Orlando is 29-31 O/U on the season. The Pistons have gone Under in 8 straight games and have scored 105 or fewer in 2 straight.

Detroit sits 25th in offensive rating while Orlando is 5th in defensive rating. With Orlando also 26th in pace, expect a slow-tempo, low-scoring battle. TAKE UNDER 217 (-110).

The Pistons have lost 8 in a row, the last a 121-115 loss Friday to the Houston Rockets, pushing as a 6-point road underdog. Detroit is 2-0-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 3 games after going 0-5 ATS in the 5 previous games. It is 32-41-4 ATS on the season.

Pistons at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 116, Pistons 105

Moneyline

PASS.

The Pistons have lost 8 in a row and 12 in a row on the road. At (+300), they have no value to pull off the upset.

Against the spread

LEAN MAGIC -8.5 (-115).

The Magic have been a covering machine as of late. They rank 18th in net rating since the All-Star break; whereas the Pistons sit 27th and are on the road here. Orlando has covered 8 in a row and 4 in a row at home.

It has been surging, and it is among the healthy and competing sides outside of playoff position. Detroit will be without its top-2 scorers and have struggled to consistently cover.

The Pistons are 2-3 ATS in their last 5 road games. Put it all together and take the MAGIC -8.5 (-115).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 224.5 (-110).

The Pistons have gone Under in 7 of their last 9 games. The issue has been their offense, scoring 107 or fewer in 8 of their last 9 games. They rank 29th in true shooting percentage (54.6%) since the All-Star break.

The Magic have gone Under in 6 of their last 7 games. They have also been inconsistent offensively, scoring 111 or fewer in 3 of their last 6. Orlando also sits 3rd in defensive rebounding rate since the break, which should limit the Pistons’ aggression on the glass.

Ultimately, take the UNDER 224.5 (-110).

Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (15-44) visit the Orlando Magic (24-35) on Thursday. Tip from Amway Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Pistons vs. Magic odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Detroit lost to the Boston Celtics 127-109 on Feb. 15 before the All-Star break, failing to cover as an 11.5-point road underdog. It has lost back-to-back games and is just 3-7 in its last 10. The Pistons are 5-5 against the spread (ATS) over that 10-game span and 25-31-3 ATS on the season.

Orlando fell 123-113 on Feb. 21 at the Toronto Raptors and failed to cover as a 7.5-point road underdog. The Magic are 5-5 straight up and ATS in their last 10 games. They are 33-25-1 ATS for the year.

Detroit has won and covered the spread as a favorite in both matchups between these teams this season. The total has split in those games.

The Pistons are 7-1 in their last 8 Thursday games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game. They are 3-2 ATS in their last 5 road games and while they have struggled outright, they have done much better against the spread.

Pistons at Magic odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 108, Pistons 103

Money line

The home team has won the three previous meetings this season between the two teams. The Magic beat the Pistons 119-113 at home on Jan. 28.

The Magic are the league’s worst home team at 8-25, but the Pistons’ seven road wins are tied with the Houston Rockets for fewest in the NBA.

The Magic are 3-5 in their last eight home games.

I LEAN MAGIC (-140).

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

Both teams have been much better against the spread than in outright wins.

The Pistons are 37-32 ATS overall and 18-17 ATS on the road. They have covered the spread in nine of their last 10 games.

The Magic are 33-37 ATS overall, but only 12-21 ATS at home. They are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games and have covered the spread in four of their last five games.

With the small line, I LEAN MAGIC -2.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The first two matchups between the Pistons and Magic finished with totals of 213 and 189. Those were in Detroit. In the last matchup in Orlando, it was 222.

Only two of the Pistons’ last seven games have had more than 218 points while the last three for the Magic and four of the last six have had more than 218.

These are two of the three lowest-scoring teams in the NBA.

Take UNDER 218.5 (-108).

Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Detroit Pistons (11-36) travel to Amway Center Friday to take on the Orlando Magic (9-40). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Pistons vs. Magic odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Magic have the worst record in the Association and have covered the spread in just one of their last six games. Orlando is 2-8 in its last 10 outings, one of which was a 97-92 loss to the Pistons in the Motor City Jan. 8. Orlando is 21-28 against the spread (ATS). The Magic’s 3-18 home record is actually worse than their road record (6-22).

The Pistons have covered four straight spreads and are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 outings.

While three of those seven covers have come as double-digit underdogs, they’re nonetheless keeping games close. Detroit is 24-23 ATS overall and 4-21 straight up (SU) on the road.

Pistons at Magic odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 107, Magic 104

Money line

SPRINKLE on the PISTONS (+133).

They’re the better team and have been a covering machine as of late. These teams rank within a few spots in turnover rate, true shooting percentage and defensive rating, all near the bottom of the league.

However, this game may be decided by a few points, so the Pistons’ significantly better free throw rate could give them the edge. Detroit is also the much hotter team and hasn’t played since Tuesday so should be well-rested.

Against the spread

BET on the PISTONS +3.5 (-110).

They say home-court advantage counts for around 3 points, so these teams would be about even on a neutral court.

With both teams missing key star players, it’ll be youth and role players that must step up. I trust players like F Saddiq Bey, who is averaging 15.9 points per game, more than guards Cole Anthony and Jalen Suggs.

Over/Under

PASS with a slight lean to the Under 212.5 (-112).

Both of these teams are .500 on the total. The Pistons are 23-23-1 O/U this season, and the Magic are 24-24-1 O/U.

That said, it’s two bad offenses and two bad defenses, so anything can happen. I’d stay away with Pistons as the best play in this game.
