Pistons at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 114, Wizards 106

Moneyline

PASS.

The Pistons (-190) are trending upward, while the Wizards are a young team still in the development stage. Detroit will win and cover which is why I’ll take my wager to the spread.

Against the spread

BET PISTONS -4.5 (-110).

The Wizards have been struggling, covering just once in their last 7 games, making it hard to back them with confidence. Their defense has been porous, allowing 124.8 points per game over their last 5 contests.

In comparison, the Pistons are more solid defensively, ranking 6th in opponent field goal percentage at 44.9%, while Washington sits at 24th, allowing 47.2%. Despite allowing 118.5 points in their last 4 games, Detroit has covered 3 of their last 4. Given the defensive gap, Detroit is the better bet to win by at least 5 points on the road.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 226.5 (-105).

Both teams have had difficulty scoring recently, with Detroit averaging 110.3 points over their last 4 games and Washington putting up 107.4 points in their last 5. Both are 2-2 against the Under in their past 4 games, but in their last 5 meetings, the game has gone Under each time. The teams also struggle with efficiency, as Detroit ranks 21st in true shooting percentage at 56.0%, while Washington is even worse, sitting at 25th with 50.8%.

Detroit Pistons at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Detroit Pistons at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Detroit Pistons (5-8) and Toronto Raptors (2-10) meet Friday at Scotiabank Arena with tip-off set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pistons vs. Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Pistons won 2 of 3 last season

Detroit lost a tough overtime battle Wednesday night 127-120 to the Milwaukee Bucks, pushing on the 7-point spread as the Over (213) cashed. The Pistons struggled to contain 2-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored a league-best 59 points. G Cade Cunningham led Detroit’s efforts, scoring 35 points and dishing out 11 assists.

The Raptors took their 5th straight loss, falling 99-85 to the Bucks on Tuesday. Toronto couldn’t cover as a 9-point underdog as the Under 226 hit. Guard Gradey Dick had a standout performance, putting up 32 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. However, 22 turnovers proved costly and prevented them from staying competitive in the game.

Pistons at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Pistons 118, Raptors 107

Moneyline

BET PISTONS (+120).

The Pistons aren’t the same team that dropped 68 games last season. This young squad is showing promise, ranking 6th in rebounding and 8th in blocks per game. They’ve been competitive against top teams, pushing the Bucks to overtime and recently securing wins over the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Atlanta Hawks. Detroit is 4-2-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 7 games.

Meanwhile, the Raptors seem to lack direction, coming off a 5-game road trip sweep, including a 14-point loss to the Bucks—who Detroit pushed to OT. I like the Pistons as an underdog to win outright here.

Against the spread

PASS.

If you want to take the point and a half, I’m not going to fault you, but if you like the Pistons to win just bet them on the moneyline.

Over/Under

AVOID.

I’m not sold on either side of the total for Friday night’s matchup. The trends are mixed, with the Pistons hitting the Over in 3 of their last 4, while the Raptors have gone Under in 4 straight. Their last 10 meetings have split evenly at 5-5 on the Over/Under. I’ll stick with focusing on the moneyline.
