First look: Denver Broncos at New York Giants odds and lines: Broncos short road favorites

Looking at Sunday’s Denver Broncos at New York Giants Week 1 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

Two teams eyeing 2021 turnarounds open their seasons late Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium as the Denver Broncos visit the New York Giants for a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Below, we look at the Broncos vs. Giants odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

The Broncos were one of seven teams (all in the AFC) which finished the preseason 3-0 and are hoping that helps serve as a springboard to end the franchise’s longest stretch (four seasons) of sub-.500 finishes since the early 1970s.

While Teddy Bridgewater winning the starting quarterback job garnered most of the preseason headlines, the Denver defense has the horses to be one of the NFL’s best with the return of DE Von Miller from injury and a revamped, talent-laden secondary.

The Giants, meanwhile, were one of the eight winless preseason teams (all in the NFC), but even more concerning is the rash of health issues the team dealt with in training camp.

Recovering RB Saquon Barkley (knee), prize free-agent acquisition WR Kenny Golladay (hamstring), first-round draft pick WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and TE Evan Engram (calf) are all question marks entering the opener as the G-Men look to climb above .500 for only the second time in the last nine seasons.
